Want to hit SOPA hard and make sure it doesn't come back?

http://thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=pass_sopa Don't be fooled by the title of the article, our favorite internet satirist is very against SOPA. Near the bottom of the page he lists companies that support SOPA and suggests boycotting them. Hitting the smaller companies first would probably be more beneficial than just going for a giant company i.e. Viacom. He also lists the Congressmen that got the lobbyists money and proposed SOPA, we should do all that we can to make sure that these people do not get re-elected. I know it takes effort to email a company and tell them that they are pieces of shit, but the company does read these emails and will respond. The more people we get to start doing this, the farther away we will toward censorship. Just letting these companies get away with this bullshit lets them know that the average American is too lazy to do anything about injustice, well, lets prove them wrong.

Don't think boycotting would do much if anything but not electing these people could help a little bit, the problem is the next politicians in their place will just take the money to try to get something like this passed cause they desperately need money to get re-elected, its like a vicious cycle.

The best thing you can do is boycott google/youtube/facebook/twitter/bing/yahoo because they are going through with the censorship with or without a bill.

Boycott Bill Maher. Not only does he use SOPA as fapping material, he said, "Online pirates are white looters in pajamas." Only whites pirate?

Seeing as I don't have hbo, boycotting Bill Maher is something I already do.

In fact, I'll go a step further: http://www.icefilms.info/index
^Pc users get divx, mac users get perian... and now you can watch tv from your computer for free. The best part about this is that you aren't ever uploading so it's completely legal!

And you must be his mom
Um... no, I just know the difference between a penname and a real name. As well as the difference between George and Greg. I think those topics were discussed in 1st grade... evidently a tough grade for some.

Well deprave you bring up a good point. One of the only things that our country hasn't fucked with too much yet is the internet. I'm personally boycotting companies out of the principle of the matter. I disagree with lobbyists, and I don't want a senator, especially from my area, to get reelected that is a total tool and gave into the companies that want to censor the internet.

I'm aware that there are proxies and various ways around a restrictive legislation, but is that what we need to resort to in the future? I really hope not.
