wardrobe set up 2nd grow 7 weeks

I have had these babies growing for 7 weeks now and they are now on 12/12. Not sure when I changed over, forgot to make a note of it…Doh!!!
There are five plants here and one is outside the wardrobe so when I close the wardrobe for the night one has to stay outside the doors. The room is dark but not pitch black. Does this matter.
I am feeding them Vitalink buddie and bloom and they are under one 400 HPS.
I am a bit worried that they will soon run out of room. The wardrobe is 3ft width x 2ft depth x 8ft height. And 3.5 ft depth with the door open. The plants have lots of flowers and I think are doing very well but I would be great full for your valued opinions. The plants are about 2-3 ft high from soil level at the moment.
Would it be better if I prune the fan leaves to create more light for the lower flowers.
Sorry about the photos, my camera is crap.
More pics to come

They are looking good to me.
I personally do prune my fan leaves mainly because i like you have a small space with only a 400watt hps.
Many people disagree with this method but i think it works better for cramped spaces with lowish light levels.

I never cut all the leaves in one day however.
From what i can see of your plants i would take the 4 largest leaves of each plant and then not prune it again for 3-4 days.

If you strip to much leaf from the plant in one day it will get shock, always give the plant a couple of days to recover and reroute its roots from the pruned leaves to a different part of itself before you cut anymore off.

Anyway like i said a lot of people argue that you should never cut leaves of and i would agree with them if you had the space or a 1000watt hps but in the instance of cramped space and low lighting i think its best:blsmoke:

Thanks natmoon.
The space looks dark in the photos but its a lot lighter than it looks. I have tried to bend the leaves away from the flowers but there are too many. Do you think as i do that they should not be moved cos they have grown into there space. I was going to take them out and recover the walls and doors with white plastic sheeting and tin foil for the top. At the moment the sides are covered with wraping paper with a foil backing.
what do you think.

I can see from the length of your large leaves stems that they are already fighting to get more light and they will soon be making to much shade over the bud areas imo.

I would never use tin foil as it creates hot spots that can burn your plant.
Your stems look tough enough to be moved but be careful and see what happens when you move one just in case they are not strong enough and snap off.
IMO you would be better of painting the inside with white emulsion:blsmoke:

This is one of my plants if you can imagine that it once looked similar to yours and that i worked my way down the plant from about 4" from the top of the plant and removed 4-5 leaves every 3-4 days so that the light comes right down the plant and gets to the lower buds.
Doing this i get bud from top to bottom and alough the lower buds are still only smallish they are a much better smoke:blsmoke:

one is left outside the cabinet???

Its really important to have 12 hrs of complete darkness, your plants can start to hermie on you. Nice lookin plants though

on the dark period the doors are shut tight and a blackout sheet over the doors. i have to take one plant out cos there,s no room for it. It has gone a little leggy but she is fine up to now. my last grow went hermie but i cut off all the pods that i could see and still had a great smoke from them. But those were in a different grow room. These are doing fine up to now and i,m keeping a sharp eye on them.

they look really good, man. keep it up and update us.....you keep the closet door open during the day right? it probably wouldnt hurt to cut a hole in the side of that unit just to give em some night time ventilation......

Two more pics . sixty days
Its a lot better after covering the walls white. The plants love the extra light.

As you may see. the top bud on one plant has turned bright yellow. Not sure what it is, its been like this for over a week now but seems to be doing fine.
The buds are getting sticky and are starting to tighten up. Some of the flowers are starting to turn amber. I would say about 2-3 weeks left.
any input gladly recieved.:joint:

When I do a harvest I will try this. I read that a bushy plant should be harvested in parts. Take the top off with all buds that look ready. While you manicure the tops and hang, let the bottom part of the plant stay in flowering so the buds that were starved for light now can recieve it. It sounded good to me, unless you need the cabinet quickly.

i have white plastic soft sheets that i use and they seem to do the job. my only concern is the yellow top on one of the main colas. I have never seen this before and have no idea what caused it. One plant has started to loose leaves, they are yellowing very quickly for some reason. I just hope it goes the distance. The other four are doing fine. Lots of trichs and smell sweet but not very sticky yet. i would say about 2 weeks min.
not long now.

the plants have to be in compleat darkness in the 12/12 period, other they may turn hermie, with lite leaks ect. try to keep them in compleat darkness, if they havent already turned, did you use fem seeds?. hope there ok. they look ace.

leaves do turn yellow towrds the end of plants life, & may even fall off. it may be that plant is struggling to transfer nutrients up into the main cola.

I realize that the leaves go yellow but this is hapening all the way up to the top.
it should be ok though as its the first out of all the plants to be harvested. The plants are in a closed wardrobe set up and are well covered in the dark period.
thanks for your thoughts .
