One of them broke and can no longer hold the light...my first grow literally just entered flowering stage and the only way I have to hang the light is about 28 inchs above the plants until new hangars get here in about 2 weeks is it fine or should I rig up something or try to atleast but will they be fine... Or will they not grow as much and should I just hang it by like wire or something?

I would btry that but my light is a ballast /light combo so the left side is signifigantly heavier by atleast 15_20 lbs

hmmm i could try that that... how detrimental would it be to leave it .. would the plants eventually grow to it?... seeing this is the first week of flower aren't they suppose to double .. sometimes triple in size? or is the light too far away to even promote growing?

Using the method below (chain/quicklinks) you can actually move your lights as needed up and down.

So there is no issue, just adjust them where you want them, and use the quicklinks to keep them fastened in place. :joint:

It's not too far away to promote growing.

But since they are going to stretch anyway, I wouldn't add to that by having the lights farther away than they need to be.

They will just stretch even more.

I'm trying to wrap my head around how exactly this works...I've got hooks screwed into the rafters in my basement with chains hooked to a 2x4 rectangle structure with my lights mounted on other chains on that...so its adjustable to make the lights point in different directions a little if needed and raise up one notch at a time...

what do the quicklinks attach to?

Here you go.

Edit, I should have rotated the picture. The right side is actually the bottom of the pic. You can just make out the v-shaped metal hanger that attaches to the cool tube.

Yeah I keep it simple. But it won't work if you don't have enough space, I suppose.

I just attach one length of the chain to the cool tube, throw the other over the supports in my tent, pull her up to the proper height, and lock her into place.

LOL someone brakes a light hanger then needs to come here and ask for help to fix it? I mean come on, maybe you should just buy your weed from a dispensary or drug dealer.

Do you feel better about yourself now that you have put someone else down?

Maybe it isn't a sophisticated question. Then don't read it or respond to it. If it's below you, leave it to someone else.

Offer something useful or don't waste time writing it. This isn't Facebook, and we aren't in 9th grade.

Be respectful and helpful, not another bully.

EDIT: Advising someone to illegally purchase cannabis is far more questionable than asking for help about fixing a light hanger.

LOL, your 41 post history is all fail. Why are you here if you don't need advice and have nothing useful to say? Just trollin, eh?

I replaced all of my light duty ratchet straps a few years ago with these Rope Ratchets. I'm using two of the 1/4" size to hold up my 400w HPS because I already had them on hand, but they make a 1/8" size also. Very easy to adjust and really rugged. If the rope breaks, just go down to any hardware store and buy a new length of rope.
