So you have intrigued me and im intrested in doing part of my harvest in that method check here for details https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/438257-skylight-grow-uk-2.html#post5838272. Just wanted to get this straight, once i harvest my buds i submegre them in a container if they float place something on top to keep them under. I have heard somepeople same they keep a lid on this other say do not? what do you guys suggest. Keep this a dark place and replace each day being careful not to distress or move the buds too much. Repeat for 7 days and on the 8th day take my buds out and dry them. I want to know what drying methods you have used as i have hair dryers radiators superser (Gas Heater) what would you use?

Water cure works, makes the bud smaller, but much more potent per gram.
True, but only more potent because some extra weight was taken, if a bud air dried weighs 1 gram after dry, the same nug would way between .7-.9 or so, so it has the same amount of original thc to less weight increasing potency.

I have done it once, and its as simple as that, i just tried with one ud from harvest antd had it in a tupperware with a small object holding it down, every day replace water. I learned never to cover; during a water cure the chloro, nutes, and other things u dont want seep into the water and some need to evaporate, a lid would b helping keep things in the water and bud. Water can only hold so many impurities at once. I've heard a food dehydrator works great for drying after.

dont drink the water your dumping out of the jars (common sense isnt so common) cause it has all the impurities from the marijuana but none of the stoney...so dont drink the water....theres blood in the water (dave matthews everybody)

I pre-tested a plant prior to final harvest using water curing, and was impressed about how simple, easy, and effective it is. For this harvest, thinking I'm going to water cure about 25% of each plants output, which will allow me some time to give a nice looooong regular curing for the quality smoke down the road ....

No no no..... I hardly call the buds less appealing and you don't lose taste... I still have a jar of water cured from a last Xmas harvest. It is spicy with a sweet aftertaste. Here is a pic of water cured and air cured buds from the same plant.... The bud on left is water cured.... to me it looks more appealing....

And I believe the brownie creations the OP refers to are these? ;)

ayo! guys......... im thinking of water curing my hole harvest since i had to chop it early because of mold issues it was my decision didnt want the stress and time to look at every bud for mold after i chopped 2 molded buds off and inspected all the buds and then 2 days later ahve mold on some more....... i just chopped her

so im thinking water cure all the clean buds so none the spores can settle adn germiante during curing.... cuz woodnt the water adn boyancy effecdt bring the spores to the waters surface.... adn the bud sitting in water is in no kind of enviroment for mold to grow yet survive in..... im pretty sure ive made the right decision on choosin this method for curing

i might loose weight but it saves 5+ more colas from being infected right??

I just finished water curing about 4 grams and i'm really surprised! The buds don't smell much at all witch kinda sucks but the smoke is way thick and smooth a little more potent then the air cured but way less of that nasty chlorophyll taste(witch is the reason why i tried it) because it takes a while to get that taste out of air dried bud. The ash is straight white and it burns really good too i used a regular old dehydrator it only took about 2 1/2 hours to dry. On my next harvest i'm definitely gonna water cure at least half :)

This thread came as a top result in Google... Just wanted to note that for already mostly dried herb, the vast majority of "bad" stuff will be out within 24 hours and even 12 should get it "clean enough".

Make sure changing water every 6 hours and using plenty of water so saturation point isn't reached... 90% of the crap will be out within 24 hours.

You can see this as you change water it becomes lighter and lighter until just slight color to the strained water.

Okay, if you're going for 95% cleaned maybe do for 36 hours.

I saw this thread and no offence but for me its the stuff nightmares are made off

Why would you want less taste i can understand if your doing it for stealth but barring that or crazy high humidity why would you water cure ?

90% of pot smokers have fucked up taste buds, would puke if they ate a sour grape, thinking it was laced with poison, and they quite literally mistake pesticides, burning plant tar and weed flavor for each other.

It was shocking to find out the southwest, especially, has everything backwards when it comes to weed. Its a placebo fanboy scene, they get high off buying the cool brand, not the quality of the smoke. They think unflushed npk bud grown by Jingle Balls or whoever, stored in Chinese Rubbermaid tubs tastes "gas", and that legit dank in ziplock is laced or rotten, or sprayed I've heard it all from these neo-pot legal garbage lunatics.

I handed a red headed trimmigrant my vaporizer loaded with dank one day, and they said they prefer to taste and feel the weed... My mouth was coated for 45 minutes, kept doing that sinus taste thing and they tried t claim something in the pot was giving me a bad reaction.... These people simply cannot taste weed metabolites.

Eventually I learned most people are fucked up in the head and can't even get high off weed without oxygen deprivation and nitrogen poisoning. Its crazy out there.

Water curing is good for nothing but making moldy shit weed a little easier to clean up when turned into face creams ecigs and gummybears. Or if you legitimately do not like what the plants metabolites have to offer (like strain specific effects, medicinal value, and the most pleasurable flavors in the Milky Way.

i didnt take pictures but i had some shits a couple years ago that got mites and i used pesticides on it about 3 or 4 weeks into flower and i was just kinda hesitant about giving meds to my patients that had been sprayed so i water cured it just changed the water like daily unless i forgot and i think i had it in the water for like 5 days or somthing and i kinda thought they smelled and felt like it was gonna mold or something so i just hung dried it and it looked weird and smelled weird but smoked GREAT but it ended up weighing like 15% of cut weight. smoked like hash though.
Imagine thinking this is how you grow medicine. So ignorant it is scary.

Cheers :)

Why would I ever do this method with the medicine I grew and cared for for 6 months?

I grow outdoors. The last thing I am worried about is unclean, filthy buds. I take extreme care of my shit, as do most serious growers of medicine.

So, the reason I do it is to make it more potent by weight... You lose 20-25% or so weight because getting out 95% of anything water soluble... For me it's a health thing. 25% less smoke from anything seems huge if considering large amounts of time.

It also burns muuuuch cleaner, to the point of pure white ash if smoking pipe. Really love that. And, significantly smoother because now have less compounds burning.

So those are the reasons I do it. But why would someone not? Because you will lose some IMO insignificant amounts of potency. Perhaps .5%. From incidentals.

And, the biggest reasons not to do, for many, is that you lose most flavor and smell. But again, these are still compounds that you're inhaling the smoke from, so, it's a trade off...and, in some cases, like with shwag, it can be a benefit to lose some taste and smell. Then we also have the stealth aspect which you mentioned, could be big for some.
