i recently posted this question in other section but i was wondering if i should do a water cycles during the dark cycle or not? im using a 12 pot ebb-n-flo with higromite medium, started flowering 2 days ago. i have been doing water cycles once an hour when lights are on and every 3 hours during dark periode. plants look great, was just wondering if they still absorbed through roots when lights are off? thanx:confused:

Unless your containers are really small, you should not need to irrigate during the dark cycle. How did you decide to water once per hour? Are you watering 15 minutes per hour? This sounds like extreme irrigation, maybe you should cut back once flowering kicks off. I'm not familiar with higromite - is it like perlite? If so then disregard everything I said, and water at least once during the dark cycle.

containers are 2 gallons, higromite is basically rocks, different shapes n sizes, does not effect ph and is supposed to retain water better than hydroton. i started out cycling every 4 hrs for 15 minutes, and just gradually got it up to a cycle an hour for fifteen minutes. plants seemed to love it! just went to flowering 2 days ago (35 days from seed) they were 22 to 26 inches tall.(white widow skunk, brainstorm, and crystal) nice sturdy stems n branches. havent seen but a few yellow tips! and that was only when my water return line got kinked n they soaked for about 4 hrs, n even the there was only a slight discoloration in the tips, not really yellow, few days later they were fine. just growin like crazy!!! next time round not gonna veg as long. basically they havent told told me in their own little way to slow down so ive been feedin the shit out of them but keepin a close eye out for negative signs.:weed: i do plan on cutting back as soon as they start to flower! read that it will increase potency!? early pic to show higromite.
