Water logging, slow rooting with EZ Cloner

I have an EZClone 16 using clonex gel, clonex solution (1/4 dose), compost tea on a 1 on 4min off schedule.

The tea works great at preventing slime and saves money on nutes but doesn't help the occasional spongy stem which I think is because of waterlogging or an air bubble.

when I take the cuts I usually stick them in the gel and then move them to the 1 on 4 min off cloner which should have prevented an air bubble.

The question I have is what do i need to do? The options I found are water on 24/2 then revert to 1on4off or increase my Off time but I don’t know by how much.

I gave up on my cloners and went back to Coco and seed planter trays, roots are popping in less than a week and 9/10.

When my cloners were working good they were great but not too often that they were good..

Good luck.

Forgot to mention that my ph is around 6 because I have a meter attached to a pump that keeps it between 5.8-6. I check it for accuracy b4 every cycle.

I tried to use pool shock back when I was attempting sterile and I still got fungus and it was pretty strong

Where do u keep ur cloner mine is in a tent.
So I put a cloning light from a clone tray kit.

I never could get the root riot cubes to root consistently. Just couldn’t get the amount of water right and I tried many methods and qtys.

also should mention that the Mom plant was kind of young, about a month from seed but very healthy.
