Water: Tap, Distilled, Drinking?

I was bumping around here and I came across a thread discussing use of tap water on plants. I understand it needs to sit out for the chlorine to evaporate fully.....

....but my question is: What does everyone here use for the most part?

and is there any difference in efficiency of tap water, distilled, filtered, or drinking water?

tap water from the city has florine in it too do not use it . Distilled water is the right ph and I only use it for germinating to get it off at the right ph. Drinking water can be used but if i wer u Id be goin to a country freind that has a well and just fill some gallons up and youll be set for a couple of weeks.

I use well water. Other wise drinking but that can get expensive. If all is lost use distilled water but distilled lacks nutrients it is just a nuetral wetting agent. Or whatever.

I am currently using distilled water and its working fine. I have used several different brands and none of them are the correct ph...actually I have found all brands to be around 9 on the ph scale.

Some people swear by rainwater but I always say that it depends on where you live and how you collect it that might be what decides if it is the best thing or even a good thing for you to use.

You have heard of acid rain, right? It has wiped out areas of forest so if you are in an area where acid rain is common you may not want to use rainwater.

Then if you collect it say from a downspout running from your gutters if you don’t keep your gutters clean and you have a bunch of rotting leaves and sticks in them the rain water will run through them and into your storage tank and that will alter your water.

So in my opinion if you decide to use rainwater you shouldn’t just assume it’s the best or even good and you should check its pH level.

Even if your rainwater is good I would still suggest using nutes if you want the most/best you can get out of your plants. Its not like rainwater is full of fertilizer because if it was everyone would have lush lawns and no weeds because the grass would grow so well and so thick it would choke out the weeds and farmers would not need to fertilize crops and spray herbicides.

I've been talking with the guy at the shop here and he clearly told me not to buy any water... it's a waster of money. He told me my tap water is fine wich come out at 90ppm. And he also told me not to let the water sit... small amount of chlorine found is city tap water is not bad for any plant, even good as it's a mineral that contain something i can't remember the name a plant needs...

I use tap water... don't let sit... put nutes and ajust the ph, wait for the temp to reach my res temp and do the water change. my plants are nice and growing fast!

I have a black container that i fill up and adjust that'll last me two weeks worth of watering... i'll take it straight from the tap adjust it and begin to use it instantly, but on the other hand my water does sit a bit and i havent found any bad side effects from doing that technique yet...
