My pump went today and it cant be fixed until the spring,i am on the water, the lake has a clay bottom so the water is always dirty.my question is can i use this water to water my plants with all winter?i have an ice auger,a pump and i have a ski doo with a nice sleigh.i can fill up 6 buckets at a time....no problem at all.
So does anyone know if i can do this?

And there is no town water in my area
Without any filtration, you're rolling the dice.
You don't have to go so far as an RO filter, but a basic sediment filter would be a good idea.
That is a great idea!!didnt even consider it...thank you man!!!
Ill get this and do the filtering in my fish house when warm and tow the buckets of water back home.

I've never used an RO system, but I was kinda under the impression that they were more for dealing with water that wasn't all that bad to begin with. Wouldn't you need to filter out the larger particles before running it through RO? At the very least, it seems that you'd go through filters much faster with lake water.
