Watering with lights on or off?

Some methods of growing you have to water during both light and dark periods. When I was doing flood and drain there was no way the plants could go 12 hours during lights off in hydroton without flooding the table. So the plants were flooded on a timer every 3 hours for a total of 8 times a day/24 hours.

I use blumats with coco and those drip 24/7. When I have soil plants in the tent I water them when I have the time. Often that's right before lights off when I get up in the morning. The plants don't seem to care and that's all that matters.

Why would it matter?, In Hydro roots are permanently in water and has some of the best indoor crop methods like DWC or NFT.

I water at lights on, specifically because during lights off, it's pretty cool in the grow areas. 56-64F. I keep my nutrient mix just above room temperature, so that when I water, it warms the root zone just as the plant's day is starting.

I grow in Sunshine #4 peat-based mix.

I run my lights at night so I can water/feed just as they turn on. This gives them time to vent and evaporate all night long and seems to cut the risk of any mold issues popping up. Also eliminates the coldest part of the day and keeps the gurls cozy.
