every other day may be a lil much, they like a lil time to dry out. i water once every 2-3 days in my 2 gallon pots.

yea its fine to water until a lil bit runs out the bottom, that's they way i do it and many other people do it this way to, i also add about an inch or so of some gravel/fish tank rocks at the bottom of all my pots to reduce the risk of over watering.

Water when the pot is dry,you can tell,by picking it up when it watered, and picking it up when its dry.

Let them dry out between waterings. Some can go 3 to 4 days. Stick your finger in the bottom to see if wet, or feel the weight of the pot. I let mine dry almost right out, just before they are going to wilt. You will see the very tips of the leaves start to turn down and they lighten in colour. Then I water them well. I feed them every other watering. :weed:

For $8. get the Home Depot soil moister meter.
I us it, when the meter gets down to one I water 3 gallon pots with one 16oz water bottle each.
I took a 16oz water bottle (Poland springs) drill about 8 eighth inch holes in the top.
It's just enough to see some run out the bottom of my pots.
Watering is about every other day according to the meter, I check each pot every day.
It' worth the effort, each plant will use water at a different rate and this is the only way I know to keep it very accurate.
