Weak buds

Hey there,
This is my first grow ever using about 350 watts of 3000k Cfls for 1 plant that is about 22 inches tall. She is currently 5 weeks in flowering and growing fine. I won't go into more detail about nutes ph and what not because it is irrelevant to my question. To get down to it, i am wondering about the lower small soft colas that haven't risen to the top and are not getting sufficient amount of light. I have posted pics of a few strong colas and i have 4 at the bottom. I know that it is half way into flowering and a bit late, but should i remove the weak buds since all that weight could have been added to the top and continues to reduce my end yields of more potent dense buds? Might be a noob question but i'm here for some good advice and to be educated, Thanks!

P.S I know i posted this more than once but it seems that's the only way to get a variety of answers, thanks!

You got over a dozen(12) cfl's and still not enough light..?

there are falling returns with cfl's up to 220w any more and it cheaper and better to go T5 even 250w hps

if you got the cash for a 250w hps then bleed some more and get a 400w hps

or it you like burnt fingers smell ...build ur own COB

I admit to using CFL's but only for 1-2 weeks thru seedling

then it to the T5 then over to the hps, like a factory

good luck

ps if you can't do any of the above lowers the light to within half an inch of the tips

or use ur dvd cases to raise them ..lol

Thanks for all that but still blank about what to do with the bottom colas. Cut em or leave them?

Can we see some pics of your 350 watt CFL array? With 350 true watts, I could surround a plant with bulbs and have zero larf.

Leave em and feed it. Looks like you've done a good bit of cutting already, I don't think stressing the plant anymore is going to increase yield. Try to keep it green til the end and next grow try LST to keep an even canopy.

Your not necessarily going to gain on top what you remove from the bottom. I leave it grow and take what I get from the lower branches. Now, I'm only running 4 or 5 plants so I mange to piss with the popcorn. If one is harvesting 64 plants from a greenhouse that might require a different action plan.

I often get rid of shade buds through the 4th week of flowering, but I'm growing in 5 gal pots under 1k watt lights. If you're going with short plants and low wattage (under 600 watts) you're better off surrounding them and pruning more selectively.

I just lollipop'd/defoliated lower branches yesterday, leaving what I hope are 4 main colas, all nearly equal height (2 and 2, obviously, but the lower set is barely lower at top.) I'm just saying, if he's close to the end, the little increase to his electric bill would probably be worth it..

Depending on your situation, sometimes it's just best to leave them and turn them into hash when the plants are done. Personally, I lollipop the bottom 1/3 of the plant so the plant does not put any energy into them.......

Can you expand on flash dry. Please. Lol
Flash Dry ...put buds in micro wave for 10 seconds to dry then toke

or under grill for 30 seconds until finger dry them toke,

in truth the cfl light can't reach that low

trim them off to improve venting

good luck
