Unless if you have like 10000 car battery, no. one car battery will never be enough to run a 400hps for 10 sec... you have to run lamps for months... The Sun is a nice idea....

generators are pretty much useless too. for small growers.

i thought about using one but there's the noise, fuel, manual "switch on" everyday at the right time.

too much work.

the sun is good tho ^ :D

Car batteries are designed for cold cranking power. They put out a huge amount of initial power to start the engine, but then they need to be recharged by the Alternator or they just drain pretty damn fast.

What you Can do is look into back up batteries.

Theres all kinds of back up batteries you can use, but they need to be recharged a lot. Basically you might as well just run your light on regular power.

i think its a pretty alsome idea an empty caravan, no risk of getting caught, pretty warm in there even during winter, i know batterys do sound very stupid, but cant think of any other way of bringing power or making it to power lighting

Turn on the power, Or get your own place. Your not going to be able to hide a grow at your parents "caravan" when they are away for the winter.

Solar power really wont be a good option if its winter. A small generator is the only real option if your on a small budget.

Stiffer, I think we're on the same thought, just different sides. I just started a thread about maybe using 12v 5200k HID headlight bulbs used for motorcycles, and use them for growing, I rode in the night and lit up my plant with my motorcycle headlight. and I had a thought (Oh Shit) Anyway I am Fracking with a AC/DC transfomer to power the light. i aint a kid im 18..... closing season is from like october to march, and its a stationary caravan odour is not a problem because no one is there.....

how often do you think you would have to charge a battery like that??? i mean would it run for a week? coz if i they did i could get 2 charge one at home, take down there... change over bring other one home.

i like the motorcyle 12v idea small lamp though right, home many plants could u do with one of these.

i have been growing at my g.fs, her mum didnt mind the first time but is getting a bit funny about it now....
