Weed from Thailand

I was in Thailand and I bought some local weed. It was different from what I smoke in Europe. It looked like pressed stems, leaves and flowers.

I found a movie with that kind of weed. This is frame from this film:




That staff was perfect for me. Not so strong with positive and energetic high.

Did somebody know what is the name of that kind of stuf and how to make it?

Probably just a thai strain. Was thee no seeds in the weed you got? Thais are very long flowering, tall, low yeilding plants so if you decide to grow it, just be aware of this. I want some thai myself, I have been working on getting seeds.

No there wasn't seeds. But probably they made some special type of curing. Normally nobody smoke stems and leaves

Well yea the curing process is different but the effects of the herb are more likely due to the strain. I know there are methods out there of making thai stick type buds, but thai is known to be a potent positive high and cannot be recreated simply by drying an indica in a similar fashion.

Thanks Pipe Dream. I found few types of thai seeds in my country (Thai Fantasy Automatic, Fruity Thai, Mama Thai with 22 % thc of pure sativa(!), etc...).

But Thai method of curing suits me very well. Do you know how they do it?

I just finished some Full Moon that is Thai, took it 12 weeks, and have been in jars for 2 weeks now, and starting to think the Thai that I remember from the early 80s may have been so good in part to a very long cure. Think about how long it would have taken to get to me in the east coast back then. The Moon is very potent and energetic, extreme sativa stone, but the buds seem to need a longer cure for full taste and effect.

Luckily I have enough to find out if I am right!

This has nothing to do with "Thai style" cultivation. Some people like to compress their Marijuana for storage or space saving reasons. My uncle use to compress his weed and it drove me nuts. I know you didn't ask, but it's a waste in my opinion.

I would never buy anything from Thailand and personally do not believe you bought weed there. If you actually did, you are very lucky and I encourage everyone (even the douchebags on this site) to never, I repeat, never buy any illegal substance while you are in Thailand.

If you want to experience Thai Marijuana, I suggest just buying a seed and have at it. Keep in mind though, some Thai strains are the most difficult to grow. This is why I stuck with Afghani and Hindu strains.

I probably wouldn't go with an auto seems like they muddied it down with a ruderallis or something. I was going to buy some momma thais for myself but it didn't happen. I might be getting some chocolope (thai x cannalope haze) and some ultimate thai from cannaseur. I haven't grown any of them so I can't really help you choose a type, just read the descriptions and choose which one fits your needs best I guess.

I had a magazine that had a recipe if I find it I'll let you know but it's been a while. This recipe basically basted the buds in black thc oil so I'm sure it would be potent. I can't find it online either but I'm sure there's something out there with some info.

I've been living in Thailand for 20 years. If you buy weed off the street, you will get a quantity of stems, leaves, flowers and seed. Most commercial Thai weed is grown outdoors pretty much naturally. It is a 100% Sativa. A previous poster was correct, it grows very tall, slender but cab produce very decent yields when grown "properly". What you buy off the street is very deficient in THC concentration because most females go to seed and produce little flowers. The growers don't care about quality, they care about getting the harvest out for sale. You get a buzz, but it is shitty and only because local producers mix in all the males and females that have gone to seed. Unless you grow it yourself, you will not get Sensimillia (seedless), you will get shit with pesticides (nam-yaa) and all kinds of impurities.

HOWEVER - if you cultivate local Thai weed (from germination to peak harvest, removing all males when sexing), it will knock the shit out of you!! A soaring psychedelic high like what some of you may remember from the 60s, early 70s. These are the same Phenotypes from whence Thai Stick came, and that was and still is killer shit.

So for those of you living in Thailand. Buy a small bag from your local dealer, take the seeds, germinate them and use best practices cannabis horticulture to grow the most rip shit weed you will ever smoke. Very simple. I need to grow some good pure Indica along side to bring me down.

Someone said to not buy anything off of the streets of Thailand and I will take that a step further....

When a westerner, American or European goes into a country in Asia, South America or Africa all the street people see is business. Some will just try to get you some place to knock you in the head and take what they can, others will be working with the police to just rob you etc. Unless you really know what you are doing when you travel abroad, you are really taking a risk. I can tell you a couple stories of your's truly having some close calls in the Philippines and Africa.

In college I used to get kilos of Thai bud from a sailor on liberty. (this was before good pot was called "kind bud" you could get a bag of "kind bud" back then for around $50 a 1/4). A douchey friend would put it on sticks and wrap it up then jack the price up, lol.
It was always silver and way stronger than anything around.

The first time I smoked it I took about 4 bong rips in rapid succession. I went right to a deli/bar where I knew every one that worked there and most of the customers. I was so high I felt like I had a bucket on my head. I had to leave and go home and watch cartoons.

Some of my favorite weed has Thai in it.

If you are in America, I would have a hard time believing that it was coming from India or South Africa.
The crazy costs associated with smuggling MJ from there would make the prices so exorbant, it would be hard to justify.
The only reason we had access to Thai bud in the 70's is because of the military being in Vietnam and shipping it back on military transport. That is also the reason you don't see it anymore. When they officially left Vietnam, shipping/smuggling was too costly to be efficient.
