Weed Plants and Carbon Dioxide

People laughed when it was said that playing music to plants made them grow better. It really did because the sound vibrations actually strengthened them stem fibres, shorten the internode length, and caused stress grow reactions from the plants.

People then laughed when it was said that singing to plants madem them grow better. However, this is true. The carbon dioxide ( CO2 ) from the breath of a human actually makes plants grow faster. If were to grab a choir and let them sing in your grow room during the light cycle, the plants would do very well :hump:

It is also said that the massive plants that existed billions of years ago had lived in an environment with much more carbon dioxide in it. In their evolution, the plants still maintained the capacity to use much more carbon dioxide than the world has now.

In smog poluted cities, the CO2 level can be as high as 500 PPM, and by just having a small fan, the plants should have enough carbon dioxide for a medium sized garden. Nothing is better then letter your neighbor help your plants.

A High-light indoor garden with carbond dioxide amount increased from 300ppm to 2000ppm can nearly double plant growth.

A simple CO2 system can be added check this one out: Cheap CO2 for your weed plants

Yea, I've seen all of these myths rendered true on a TV show once. I plan on leaving a small stereo on next to my plants when I'm out for the day.

I've always heard that CO2 will reduce the bugs in your growroom, but I didn't know how it did that. I read recently that using CO2 will cause the skin of the leaf to be thicker, and some sucking insects will have a harder time getting through the thicker skin.

So you get better growth and fewer bugs.

i play a little greatful dead for meh ladies, they love teh classics.

yeah CO2 will reduce bugs for that reason and because in large amounts it creates conditions in which bugs have difficulties breathing.
Atleast thats what the grow guide says

I have a question for all the growers who use c02. How do you keep the ppm up when you vent it out and replace it with oxygen or when you open your door to water your plants and let out the c02? My closet with the door closed creates a perfect environment for c02, and would be nicer to keep it closed during the day. I am just trying to figure out how the ppm is kept at ~1500.

i pay richie spice to my plants and sing along while i roll my doubies but unfortunately i cant smoke it with them cus ther wee lungs cant handle the Cronic !

I am wandering what would be the best way to bring CO2 into my closet grow. I was thinking one of those buckets. any thoughts would be great. Cost plays a big role

Buy a couple of 2L coke bottles. Drink the coke.

Fill each one with half warm water, a tablespoon or so of yeast and a couple of teaspoons of sugar. Give it a shake.

Now you have c02 production.

What i do now is to make a hole in the lid and glue a tube into it making sure it is airtight. . Then i run the tub up to my fan. No you have constant c02 flowing up to your fan. Every time i water i give the bottle a shake to add an extra burst of c02 into the room.

Cost basically nothing and you can have as many bottles as you want/need.

lol i use my paintball gun n jus shoot some into my box every once in a while... don think it would hurt anythin

ihave probably a dumb question but here it goes....i going to be using a simple co2 system with tank and regulator in a seal grow box....i know that co2 speeds up the grow rate and the plants thrive off of it...now here wheres the question comes into play...when growing different stains and the harvest date from start to finish is 90 days.....does the co2 enviroment change the grow time to harvest as per strain and if so how do calculate it?...thanks

Yes, plants grown with CO2 will veg and harvest faster..........takes about 7-10 days off of my harvest times - but that's assuming a perfect environment.

Your results may vary.

The best music to stimulate plant growth is death metal. It's about the vibrations, man. I liked to play hardcore rap and deathmetal, full volume, when I had an isolated space. Now the space isn't so isolated, and I complain about our neighbors' music from time to time so it would be fucked up if I went and did the same thing, 24/7.

i have a 7-8-7 and plan on adding co2 for the first time...my thing is if i have my exhaust fan on at all times and do not cut them when my co2 comes on will it counter act the wholeprocess..i mean at what rate will the levels lower and how many interval will i have to pump co2 into my room? how long are my sprays to obtain 1500 at a 1 rate per hr
