Is it normal for the tops to look like this? The left plant looks more normal and they've been under the same conditions. image.jpg

1000watt hps sativa dominant and no I didn't top them. I'm not worried the under buds are developing great. Just didn't know if this was common with sativas.

Looks a little stressed, but it should develop fine. The single-leaves are kinda funky, but I know cindy can throw those perfectly healthy. I'm getting that vibe looking at those. Maybe use something other than foil as a reflector, I was reading about flat reflectors causing hot-spots that could lead to stress, that's why most reflectors have that hammered finish. That's about all I'd tell you to change if you're in that paranoid "I gotta do something" mode. We all get there sometimes. Looks good though brotha, everybody's gonna make it.

Thanks guys. I was just reading something about fox tailing. The leaves look weird because I defoliated. My step father has always done so and gets massive yields. I'm really doing this for fun so I figured hey why not experiment!

OH WHAT?!?! That's important to note haha. Yeah defoliation will shock your plant into throwing little blades and stretching like that. I don't know about the yield increase, but I've heard good things and am following a couple dudes that are doing defoliated gardens right now. Keep posting updates of your grow man, that's cool research that would help a bunch of us guys out!

I have two growing in about a 5x4 grow space with 1000 watt hps and I keep it around 80 with about 40% humidity. The plant you see had a littler weirdness after defoliation the other one is doing just fine. I took a little more than 20% at once from what I've read that's key. Next time I do I'll make it a more gradual process. Also I didn't use my finger like some suggest. Kinda think that's stupid. If you take a clone you're not using your hands. Clean cuts are always better, heal faster in my opinion.

Yeah it shouldn't hurt it at all early into flower, I remember I had this Wifi plant that was a little farther along, and I cracked it down the stem where I LSTed it. It was ultimately fine, it just threw some single blades and revegged just a hair on some of the tops. The 20% off at a time thing really depends on the plant, and what 20% it is. Some plants I can beat the hell out of and they never give me trouble, others not so much.
