I have a new batch of clones rooting right now in a aero/dwc cloner. I have been cloning the same way for about 5 years. I usually use just plain ol' tap water to root the clones. Last batch of clones I rooted in the same cloner and used a little bit of hygrozyme. The clones all came out great and were greener than they normally were.
I figured since the hygrozyme worked out fine last time, I would add it again. This time around I added a little more than I did last time. I added about 5ml hygrozyme per gallon of water, it says to use 6ml for cuttings and seedling media preparation so I figured 5ml would work out just fine.
After a couple of days in the cloner, all the stems below the lid of the cloner have this wierd film on them. I have never had this happen before so I'm kind of at a loss. The top parts of the clones look great. They are perky, green, and look healthy.
Anybody ever have this happen with their clones? I am thinking about doing a water change out to see if this helps. But if this is normal because of the enzymes in the hygrozyme, I will leave them alone.
Any help is appreciated.
