ok i heard this crap when it first came out and have been outraged since and now some dumb fuck judge rules in the churches favor! these people should be arrested and thrown in jail for treason. and no fuck there freedom of speech rights because the ones who have died for those rights are the sameones that they are dishonoring with there hate and fucking religous ignorance. we are a nation of tolerance but dammit when is it enough. this country was built on ideas and moral respects that no matter who or how many people are here or come here we should not change what this country is. if you dont like it get the fuck out and stop exspecting this country to change everything it is just to cater to a few unhappy fucks. dammit people wake up and take back control of this country and what it stands for and stop worrying about what everybody else wants us to do. if these bastards come close enough to my home town i will meet them with the same disrespect and violence because for these bastards, death should be there punishment.

this country has been the greatest country on earth because we have chosen to live in freedom and liberty but now everybody wants to change over to the ways of countys we have fought to seperate out selves from and countrys we have liberated. this idea is completely un american and the founding fathers and men and women who have died to make this country what it is would be outraged at these ideas.

i hate those fuckers as much as the next person, but if we're going to start killing for treason, we should start with our largest banking institutions and everyone in the house and congress that sold out the constitution because of their own stupidity/ignorance/selfishness.

Man itd be great if crapping all over the constitution was punishable by death. Our country, or our constitution would look a lot different.

For you, doc. The Westboro Baptist Church is run by this guy....total fucking nut, no matter what side you're on (except his, of course)....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_Phelps

Fred Waldron Phelps, Sr. (born November 13, 1929) is an American pastor who is the founder of the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), an independent Baptist church based in Topeka, Kansas, which is notorious for its anti-gay protests, claiming that most natural disasters and terrorist attacks are God's punishment for a society that tolerates homosexuality.

phelps and his fellow miscreants may be nothing more than a bunch of ignorant, racist, homophobic fucks, but we can't just go around silencing everyone that wants to make an idiot of himself. the slippery slope is very real and we just don't seem to know when enough is enough, the extremes attract us like flies to shit.

what is it they are really hurting? they may play on our grief, but hurting someone's feelings is no crime. they may seek to inflame our baser instincts, but every man is accountable for his own actions and we cannot blame others for our own ignorance. they may twist scripture to suit their own prejudices, but those words have been used to justify far greater sins. the ignorant are to be pitied, educated or laughed at, depending on personal preference, and persecuting them for their stupidity has never been a viable alternative. persecution creates martyrs, martyrs gather a following, followers grow the problem to even greater proportions and that greater problem is cause for even more persecution. we have witnessed this cycle time and again throughout history and it can only be ended at its beginning. education may destroy ignorance, respect may create affection and judicious tolerance is self-perpetuating.

I fully agree with you UTI, a rare occasion. Just curious, would you agree with my opinion that they should be restrained from demonstrating at veterans' funerals? At least within earshot or within sight? That shit is just disrespectful....

disrupting the private gathering of others to commemorate the passing of a loved one is more than just rudeness, it is an interference in their right to peaceably assemble and an invasion of their privacy and should be treated as such. once that commemoration turns into a public affair, it enjoys no such protections. it may be difficult to determine where our rights and our privileges diverge, but freedom isn't supposed to be easy. our tolerance, to a degree, of even the worst that our society has to offer is the ultimate measure of our enlightenment.

A simple yes or no would have sufficed, it was a simple question after all...no need for an 3 page essay/diatribe...just picking on your for the consistent lengthiness of your responses

here is how it contradicts itself...

in a nutshell " we are americans, we are tolerant, thats how we do it. people need to start being more american and ignore these peoples first amendment rights and take away their right to life, more american"

its such an ignorant statement

for the record i am against the courts judgement and protesting at funerals

but god damn your OP was a paragraph of oxymorons

Well, ignorant or not, If I was burying my son and those assholes showed up, I'd be doing life without parole. Maybe then the next ignorant bastards that tried that shit would think twice. Believe me, my AK with a 40 round clip could take the whole crowd out. I've been lucky to have never experienced those types of assholes. I don't have the patience to accept that insane behavior, especially if I were burying my son and they came with that ignorant crap.

I could only ponder a few situations where I would be willing to wipe folks out en masse, but I'm with med on this one....if they showed up with that shit while I'm burying my fallen family member, they can kiss their asses goodbye and I will gladly serve the time.

They can have their free speech....at their own peril.

keenly lets get of the fact that ur a dick and get on subject. yeah i said we are a tolerent nation and then i go on about how being tolerant is has gone to far, we bend over backwards to not affend anyones culture yet all these cultures exspect us to change out ways to suit theres. i am speaking of a bigger issue that just westbro church. and i hate bible beating idiots that truly dont even understand the very book the qoute. fuck the people at westbro church sometimes people should die and there ideas can die with them.
