OK I spoke with a Hydro shop who agrees the space is too small for a sodium 400 watt. Bearing in mind this is my first grow shall i keep the ENVIRO LIGHT as seen in picture for flowering. Its a very small space so would it really matter if I buded with the same light??????

itll probably do the job but itd be well worth getting a larger bulb. im using a 125w for veg and the ballast is interchangeable with 200w bulbs. i know envirolite 125w systems can take a 200w bulb no problems. i reckon you should be fine using a 200w in yours, just check at the hydro shop.
if you look on ebay, you can pick up a 200w bulb for around £40/$70

o, and obviously the higher the wattage the more heat. although it wont be much being a cfl, a small pc/6" fan would help with cooling and strengthen your babies..

gl man!

have a look at my journal its in my signature its a grow with a 200w 2700k and a 125w 25000k(purple spectrum). i am using eco lights a different brand of lights to enviro lights. the only difference i know of is that the eco lights are bigger

you have a great bulb for vegging, for flowering you will need a2700k, probably 2x100w or 1x200w will do. or you could use a 100W HPS.
but why the hell do you hang it vertically?! hang it horizonticly so the light won't need to travel that long to get to plants - it become unusable.

I use a 430HPS in a 22" X 20" x 5' area.. in the pics where the T's are I now have a HPS. andf only use one overhead fan..and my temps don't go above 80..
