What am I doing wrong?!?

So I've attempted to get some seedlings started three times. I have 5 more seeds germinating so I'm hoping to figure out what I'm doing wrong before it comes time to plant them. I have 4 seeds planted that I haven't given up hope on, only been 4 days but I let the last ones go over a week and nothing. I dug up one of the seeds I planted last week and the tap root has come out further but still looks like the same seed I planted 4 days ago. I didn't disturb them all but I'm guessing they're all going to be about the same.

I germinated my seeds between 2 paper towels planted them in Light Warrior soil, mist the top of the soil every day and had them under a humidity dome with a heating mat and sprayed the dome several times a day. I took them off the heating mat and out of the dome and have the pots wrapped with saran wrap now. I keep 2 cfls on 24 hours. I made sure I didn't plant the seeds two deep and haven't overwatered the soil. Not sure why I can't seem to get anymore plants going. I've now wasted about 20 seeds. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Dont dig em up be patient also you dont have to mist them every day just to make sure they are moist i usually use a shot glass and fill it up with water then drop the seeds in there put em in a dark spot then in 24-48 hours they should crack then put it in a paper towel once root gets long enough then plant its fool proof give it a try and quit wasting seeds good luck to ya!

Didn't disturb them but dug them out after 4 days, it can take 2 weeks for them to break soil. put them in 1cm down, cover, water, leave alone. Make sure the soil doesn't become bone dry and you're fine.

Dude once you plant them leave them alone dont dig them up..wtf.

Give em a full week to germinate.

Too much handling of cracked seeds, soak them in a glass of water for 12 hours and plant them..that's it.

Paper towel bullshit is unneeded imho.Seeds have been sprouting since the beginning of time without paper towels.

So, you only dug up one out of the 20 you say germinated? So 19 out of 20 germed plants showed no sign of life? Dude, something is definitely wrong in Denmark. It ain't the soil, FFLW is great for seedlings very 'cool' soil whereas the FFOF is quite hot. Anyway, have you fed any of them any additional nutes besides what is in the soil? Have you checked and double checked your ph? You said you have 2 cfl bulbs going 24 hours...how many watts and how far from the soil are they? Have you seen any Seed Goblins (no such thing I am just at a loss for what may be going on here) hanging around?

I germed my seeds inside damp papertowel then inside ziplock bag. Dark warm place. I found my router is perfect. 1 0r 2 days for sprout. Then 1/2 inch tap root I bury with shell on top the soil and mist. Cover with zip lock bag and watch her growIMG_20160215_191051.jpg IMG_20160215_192007.jpg IMG_20160216_144843.jpg IMG_20160218_145619.jpg

Same thing I did. Had seed in between paper towels inside of a zip loc bag. Getting the seed to open I have no problems, it's what happens after I plant the germinated seed.

I just started using coco with some advice from a fellow grower. Having great success. Sounds like your doing everything right. I only cover my seedlings for two maybe three days. I do have a small fan bringing in fresh air as well

Let me ask this a different way cuz you guys seemed to be hung up on the germination part. However you germinate, what do you then do with that germinated seed? Heating mat? Dome? Mist the soil don't mist the soil? I let the first two sets of seeds I planted go a week and a half this time I did get impatient and mess with one after 4 days but this is not usual practice.

I put them in the dirt and keep it moist. This is a weed, you know like a dandelion.Cannabis is prolific in the wild, with no humidity domes, heating mats or paper towels. Its always possible your seeds are less than optimum for viability, but my opinion is you are killing them with kindness or messing with em too much.

The first 13 seeds were old seeds, not super old but maybe bought 3-4 years ago. But I just received a new order from Herbies so the last 7 should have (hopefully) been new seeds. The seeds I have germinating now came from Dank Team and were in the breeder packs so now I'm curious if it's the seed and not me.

Makes sense. I'm going to leave them alone then.

This is a way which should get you almost 90% success easily.

Get solo cups (with holes in bottom) or seedling trays. Fill with seedling soil mix and water lightly, place seed about 1-2cm deep, put in seedling propagater, spray the underside lid and close vents.

Now here's the part that people always moan about, but I don't give a shit about power consumption. I then turn on my 400w mh or hps (because its the smallest I have) place it about a meter above the lid or more if its getting too hot inside the dome. (I use a temp gauge inside the dome so I know what going on) try and keep it about 25c.

Ditch the heating mat. I found that seeds tended to head towards the heat. That's why when I changed to using a light to generate the heat my success rate went from shit to 90% overnight.

You can run the light 24/7 till they sprout. But I just keep it 18/6.

Do this basically just replicates nature. :)

And leave them alone. Anyways that's just my method.

Interesting, I might have to try this, never thought about the seeds traveling towards the heat.
