Are the symptoms of being rootbound obvious....do root bound plants start to look unhealthy.......My plant is very green and healthy looking....5 weeks into flower....sativa....Buds just don't seem to be getting any bigger.....I bought a mini Microscope from Radio Shack to look at the trichomes (they are still clear)....There just doesn't seem to be any growth:confused:

I think (not 100% I'm still somewhat noob) that when plants get rootbound they just stop growing but are still healthy. People have vegged and flowered "baby" plants in 16oz. cups.

Assuming that buds on a root bound plant wont get bigger.....should I wait for trichomes to turn amber.....Or is this the end of the road for my first grow attempt?????

no,transplant it(transplanting can be done at anytime during the plants life) keep the root cluster intact.when it gets in a bigger pot then ur buds will continue to grow and gain weight.

Transplanting is not an option.....I included a pic of the water farm buckets I'm using for my grow.....I don't have any thing else to put them in:cry:

that sucks but u will get really compact buds, and if u use the right nutes u might get some small potent as hell buds

Your hydro, those buckets are big enough to grow a giant sequoia in.

Are your roots nice and white ?

If all you are using are the lights in the picture then I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you would benefit from more lighting. And yeah, like they said, those buckets are PLENTY big.

Plants being root bound is not an issue that will affect 90% of the growers here.

Room temp & light volume will effect bud size way more than a root system that cant spread out any more.
