What can one expect from a 2x4x5

Hey all!

I’m about 7 weeks into veg on a random bagseed. Tonight, I lollipopped, and pulled a few cuts for clones. Here is the before and after.

My question is under a 500w LED, what should I be able to yield? I plan on vegging for another week and a half, so 8 weeks of veg from seed. I am planning on putting some stakes in the soil and tying branches to them as they need support. Any other ideas? I have topped and LST’d, and have the ability to put a scrog into the tent. I guess I’m just looking for a little bit of feedback in general from the community as to options, as this is my first grow. Thanks all!

I'll be the first - bout a pound!
She'll explode when flipped, be ready! Looks good & healthy. Be patient and don't try to push for a huge harvest, just keep her happy & she'll return the favor. Good luck!

Should hit that!
Im running my first scrog & love not stressing over limp branches. I've already got six, gonna flower four, topped & waiting for the next run!

A 4x2 space someone could actually hit a pound with the right lighting, environment, training and stain.
However that's not common. Your lighting is sub par. That will be your limiting factor as well as experience in training ect.
Many people would be doing well hitting half a pound in that space but would still be using better lighting.
If you hit a 4-6 oz dry you would be doing very well given the circumstances.

There are things you can do to get the more from your set up and in future a scrog would be one of those things. For one because if the lighting isn't powerful it will help you keep all buds equally close to the light and gain some yield.

I'm not trying to be rude here, I'm just trying to give you an answer to the question and relate it to
1, your space (as in the title of the post)
2, your specific set up. (as in the details of your post)

Looking good though BTW

I’m currently researching new lighting. I am debating the tried and true hps, or building my own COB led fixtures. I’m also not trying to really provide more than what my head can consume. If a couple friends can puff tuff too, that’s cool. But for now I’m primarily trying to get myself better product than I can find and cut my cost on consumption down.

I also found a 5x5 at the local GS on sale for 160$. Really thinking about pulling the trigger on that thing, and having 2 flowering spaces.

She is looking pretty healthy after pulling cuts. Gonna give her another 10 days and then I’ll flip to flower. I think I might feed her some nutes this last couple weeks of veg. I haven’t been because it’s in FFOF soul and has been very dark in color until the most recent nodes.

Its a good idea to start getting her ready for full blown flower feeding by throwing some nutes at her these next couple weeks by looking at her don’t you think??

I don't touch soil but I think FFOF has all the nutrients you need to get though first few weeks of flowering.
I would double check that though, maybe try post another thread about FFOF. I don't want to be the guy that steers you in the wrong direction and screw up your plants. I only grow coco. Its a Different beast.

Cob lightings great, just stay away from cheapo ones that have sprung up lately all over ebay and amazon. DIY one or Timber growlights are good options. Also Quantum boards are great. a 260w kit lights up 4x2 very well.
I could recommend HPS or CMH but its difficult to do so with a 4x2, most cover 3x3 or 4x4 or 5x5 been that that is the footprint of the hoods/reflectors.

I have seen it done, I like the idea. Its a good use of a mars light.
But as a starting point I would prefer to start from scratch.
Just because to make the most of the watts used you want the best efficiency, not just in the chips you use but in the drivers and even the heat sinks. That said if you could change out all that and still make use of the Mars framework then why the hell not.. :eyesmoke:

If you're not worried about heat just go with an hps. You can go with a dimmable 600w so you can run at 400w if needed and still good if you upgrade to a bigger tent later on. I use my old led for a small veg box and a 600w hps for 2x4 flower tent.

You can estimate to yield 0.5g/w and that led is probably only pulling 230-250w from the wall.

I don’t think heat will be an issue right now, as my flower room is in my basement. Come summer I’m not sure what the temps will be down there.

Looking sharp. I'm expecting my 2x4x5 to arrive this week, will be lurking your thread for updates. 4 plant limit in my neck of the woods, thinking a scrog is only way to get the most out of small tent. Cheers
