Ive been using a 50/50 mix of the bulk blocks of sri Lankan pith and coco crutons because its cheap. Im getting tired of washing and charging it. Ive heard stories of people getting gnats from bagged coco and i havent ran into gnats yet using dry coco.

So what are you using? What are you doing to it prior to use; or is it ready to go out of the bag?

Tupur = coco, perlite, bio-char from Oregon wild, and compost. Best media using coco period
I talked to my shop and they can get me a tote, which is 1.5 cu yard, for $240. Breaks down to about 12 bucks a bag. Does that sound like a good deal idk what the avg price is elsewhere?

I think im gonna try it out unless thats not a good deal. Ive seen tupur for 15 online; but its not at all the grow shops in my area so i dont have any other prices to cross reference. In the end at that price im only paying and extra ~1.25 per cu ft for them to wash, mix, charge and add perilitte. Sounds like a purdy good deal to me.

I use blocks, and I still get free fungus gnats every now and then. Sun Leaves seems to be the worst for that. When I use Botanicare, I never seem to get gnats.

I mix up a blend of about 2/3 chunks and 1/3 coir. I think that's the perfect combination of drainage and water retention.

Good deal that's about what I pay believe me it's worth it buddy there isn't another coco base that runs bio char and it's only use is to buffer ph and ec. Can feed between 5.5-6.5 no ill effects at all and i push 2000+ ppms often lolIMG_20160921_203124546.jpg

I like a coco blend over straight coco.
I've been rocking tupur on half my grows for the last year. It's good shit. Before that, I was rocking mostly Big City Hydro mix for a couple years. It WAS good shit too, but then they got lazy and I would end up with big ass chunks of coco brick in it.
The tupur is killer right out the bag. Nice and clean. And I get it for 10 bucks a bag buying it by the pallet :-)
