House frame finally completed & passed inspection today. I'm one VERY happy camper right now!!!!
It's only taken me about 5 years with 98% of the work completed solo. Since the Mrs & I started on this, we've had 3 retrenchments, two broken legs, a broken collarbone, a 2-year Pandemic that we both worked through (as essential services). Oh..... & an earthquake!

Now we hand-over to the trades & the journey to lock-up will accelerate.

If I had $1 for every time I've yelled expletives at the top of my lungs during this build, we wouldn't need a mortgage........

Yep, already ahead of you. That's the next thing on the "to-do" list. The small ones are already in situ to be fitted & 'got a mate coming over tomorrow arvo to help me move the big ones.

Needed to get the frame signed-off first, rather than have to remove them if the inspector found any problems.

Right now, I'm having a few lazy coldies to celebrate.

I’m surprised there’s no gusset plates at the corners with 6” strapping tying those corners together with other gusset plates at a 45 degree. That’s what we have to do when residential. But i see all that other smaller strapping. Interesting

When you talk about gussets, I can't but help myself skipping-down memory lane of plundering the contents of young women's underwear in my 20's & 30's.:)

Other than that, you've completely lost me. I've dutifully followed the construction manual & there's been no mention of sopping-wet panties....ever!

If there had been, I might have been more motivated to complete the project sooner & reap the rewards.....:hump:

Need to call the countertop people today to find out a time for the install tomorrow. I just have temporary counters set on the cabinets so pulling them off is no problem. I have to disconnect the sink and get it out of the way also, I don't know how long I have to wait for the new undermount to be sturdy enough to mount the disposer to it, guess I'll find that out tomorrow. Being without a kitchen sink sucks. Shouldn't take too long for me to reconfigure the plumbing to get everything operational again. I think I just tempted fate...lol.

We picked up the pinball boards earlier this AM. He updated the boards with the "latest" firmware available - from ~1992. And it turned out that the Power Supply was totally pooched. Most of the capacitors/resistors were FUBAR which explains why the machine's power would just cut out while being played. Then after we moved in 2014, the machine would never power on.

He has swapped out the plethora of shitty parts and now all 4 boards are good.

Early March, the other fellow will be here to spruce up both the playfield and headstock. New rubber bumpers, targets, lights, etc. In less than 1 month - 3 ball MultiBall with dual Skyway Ramps - ONE MILLION GIGAWATTS!
