What is the BARE MINIMUM I can use for a sucessful grow, and is there a good site to show how to set it up? I found some sort of sun system reflector hood, and a big 1000watt bulb. Also a 2.4 GHZ receiver (not sure what for) and a timer. Looking to get only the stuff to add to the items mentioned. Please send what you think I need.

You don't need the receiver.
Get a ballast to power the bulb, hardware to hang the fixture, odor control (carbon scrubber, ozone, etc), and fans for ventilation depending on set-up.
You'll also need a pot, soil, nutrients, ph meter, and ppm meter.
I'm sure there's a bunch of things I'm leaving out here....

Ok thanks guys. No I was wondering what to screw the bulbs in. Where can I find the ballast and other supples cheapest. Once again thanks for dealing with a Noob. I am going to really need you guys help for a sucessful grow. What is the 2>4 GHZ receiver and power supply for?

I don't think that receiver has anything to do with growing. A 1000W ballast will run $200-300, maybe cheaper on craigslist. You'll also need a good extraction fan because that light will get extremely hot. My advice, stick to CFL's as suggested.
