THINK*^
Seems like a really popular seed bank that has cannabis cup winning strains. They seem to be really into the community. I have heard alot of trash talk about them and their seeds having weak genetics and a low germination rate

I have a pretty nice selection of genetics and i'm wondering if I should Grow my greenhouse next or to go with another breeder.

I have 5x church
2x white widow
3x white rhino

let me know what your growing experience is and any pics would be dope

the greenhouse white rhino for sure. this was a great grow.
a very hungry plant in veg and then in flower she calms down. finished in 9 weeks! i stashed half away and cured it completely. it really made it that much better.

Alright it seemed like it was a good decision I've been trolling the stains forum and alot of GH hate. I didn't know if it was user error or if GH was all marketing.

Green House Seeds has a few decent strains, a few I would call 'value strains' that aren't uber-fantastic but what you get in relation for what you pay makes them a good value.

When it comes to the greatest successes of Green House Seeds they were Shantibaba's work, White Widow and White Rhino to mention two, and when he sold his share of Green House Seeds in the breakup his genetics, meaning his breeding stable, went with him and he opened up Mr. Nice Seeds and renamed his most famous strains. White Widow became Black Widow and White Rhino became Medicine Man. That left Green House Seeds without the original genetics to it's most famous strains and only able to sell knockoffs of them like other breeders do.

Since then Arjan has had some successes, even won a bit, but there was controversy attached, claims that judges were bribed etc. so his wins have been semi-tainted by the possibility of scandal. Super Lemon Haze gets a lot of attention but it is hermi-prone. It might be genetics and it might be because Arjan only makes feminized beans and all feminized beans are unstable to some degree, and it might be a combination of both.

If I were to use car lines to describe breeder quality and picked Hyundai as the bottom and Mercedes at the top, Green House Seeds would be about a Chrysler or maybe, if lucky, a Chevrolet. It's not the worst, but it sure as Hell is a long way from being the best.

Ingenmar is the man behind Arjans seeds today.
Arjan isnt a breeder. He's a sales man. A bad one @ that. Hence needing franco and Ingenmar

He steals genetics then says he invented them.
as brick said. Shantibaba and Nev are the only breeders with access to real pareant stock

So with that. I would say Nirvanas Widow-RHino would be the same. S2s taken from F1s.

Greenhouse seeds is a gimicky cooperate like seller. It once sold good genetics now it just sells hemp seed

Real breeders avoid feminised vars

brick what are you top rated breeders and a few favorite strains if you care to indulge me
Reeferman - Reeferman Seeds, Shantibaba, Mr. Nice Seeds, Serious Seeds, Sensi Seeds, Sagarmatha Seeds (though stay way from their attempts at autoflowring strains .. a big mistake on their part in my opinion and an attempt to regain part of a lost marketplace that is nothing more than a gimmick to begin with), De Sjamman Seeds and while I believe he receives more praise than deserved due to how he came into some of his line I do like some of Sannie's Seeds and one from Soma Seeds.

Some favorites would be:

Reefermans Seeds - Willie Nelson, Blackseed, Accidental Haze, Phnom Penh, Cherry Haze, Haze bros original Haze, Nepalese,

Mr Nice Seedbank - Black Widow, Medicine Man, Neville's Haze, Super Silver Haze

Serious Seeds - AK47, Kali Mist, Bubble Gum, White Russian
Sensi Seeds - Durban, Jack Herer, Mexican Sativa,

Sagarmatha Seeds - Western Winds, Mangolian Indica, Matanuska Tundra, Slyder

De Sjamaan - Brainstorm, Purple Widow

Sannie's Seeds - Herijuana

Soma Seeds - NYC Diesel

While I definitely prefer, and mainly do smoke sativas, mostly all sativa crosses or pure sativas, I can and do appreciate a good indica. My tastes in them just tend to differ from that of many.

I have not personally grown every one of the strains listed above, though I have grown most, but the others were grown by friends and in each case, either grown by me or by a friend, I enjoyed them all enough to consider them to all be favorites.

I have tried many other breeders lines and in most every one I have tried there has been something that was at least decent, if not good, but none have come close, in my opinion and going by my likes and dislikes and tastes, to equaling the breeders and strains listed above.

I do want to try several strains from Doggies Nuts. Some appear promising, but I have not yet felt comfortable with gambling as much money as the Doggies Nuts strains that I am most interested in trying cost. I have been waiting for someone else to be the first test rat on RIU.

It was basically the same deal when Shantibaba was part owner of Green House Seeds and Neville owned Green House Coffee Shop. They did the breeding, Arjan ran the sales/marketing. After his Cup wins Shantibaba grew tired of the hype and politics and all that went with Cup competitions and said no more .. Arjan wanted more because of the fame and fortune that went with them, paritally the fame he tried to claim for himself in regards to the strains even though he was only the sales & marketing guy. Egos and tempers flared and the breakup occurred. Shantibaba opened Mr. Nice seeds and renamed his old strains in an attempt to keep there from being any mistake on what was what, and also in the case of Medicine Man as a bit of a tribute to a fiend of his, and everyone else scrambled to make knockoffs in some way or another and used the original names for Shantibaba's most famous work, White Widow, White Rhino.

For the price The Church, TrainWreck, Big Bang and Lemon Skunk are not bad, I consider them to be fair values when you compare price to what you get, but they are not top genetics. The most recent Green House Cup winners I have not tried. I read too many times about Super Lemon Haze having a hermi problem for me to want to try it.

white rhino-

great medicine for the insomniac and someone who needs to stimulate their appetite. for these reasons i only smoked her at night, and traded half of my harvest for some day time smoke. It is truly devastating in the cbd cbn category. this shit was nothing but resin, shitty camera but you can see they oozed quite a bit. bag appeal was truly 10/10. high and taste was 5/10, cant really call it a high, rather a stone. :leaf:

I can't give a personal opinion of DJ Shorts line because I have never grown any. Not that I assumed it wasn't any good or that nothing appealed to me, but I just never got around to it. I do want to try the F-13 one day though. I like the sound of that. I half thought I might want to try the GrapeKrush too sometime or another but I just never got around to it either.

Both of these interest me. How is the purple Widow in terms of Yield? I'm glad to see someone recommended it, because it was so cheep I assumed it might be trash.
That was one a friend in South Carolina grew, not me. I really liked it but the most I can say about yield is my friend said it was about average ... and as it has been mentioned it is an outdoor strain. It was potent for sure but my buddy said he didn't see as much purple as he had expected, but that might have been due to the warmer climate it was grown in and maybe he got phenotypes that just weren't as purple as normal.

I figure it will be on my list for my next outdoor deck grow.

Those are good additions. A couple of them I have never grown or even smoked but from what people I know have said and things I have read online they seem pretty worthy of mention.

I never paid much attention to the Underground Originals line but Oldtimes sounds interesting. It has a fairly interesting lineage.
