What do you guys think about these two kits:

Is it a good component/price combo?

Looks good to me, for those prices.
I suppose the legitimacy of the branding on the diodes could be in question.
They will definitely get the job done.

I'd go with the top one from Texas over the China kit.
Likely at least a moderately experienced DIY builder putting together that kit.
Pretty standard value for builds of this type, around a buck a watt.

Thank you Chp Green. To throw a ranch in the mix, would you pick first link board or Mars TSW 2000 tor 3x3 tent with only own plant to grow?

To be completely honest, for a single 3x3 tent, one plant grow, I'd probably opt for a
Hydrocrunch 315 CMH unit with Phillips bulb(either one) sells for under $190 USD on eBay.
I build my own LED fixtures, but I also use CMH and they crank serious cola dankness.

For a 3x3 your going to be in the same wattage range for good LED, vs CMH anyway, the heat is going to be in the same ballpark.

My most worry about CMH light is the heat. I want to avoid extra "plumbing" of venting CMH light. Instead I thought to get away with just one outlet fan and open bottom inlet hole with simple filter in.

Yeah, the headroom is where those panel type LED fixtures win.
I'm not really familiar with that Mars deal, but it's definitely not a complete POS, compared to the Mars'is of the past.
That Texas kit looks like a solid deal to me.
