I used to live in Redwood Valley, and was born in Ukiah. I hope to move back to Mendocino County someday soon and buy a little place near the Mendocino coast.

I don't plan to grow... (hence the reason I don't mask my identity)... but since we all know what the foundation of the Emerald Triangle is built on top of I thought I'd ask you all what you think about this looming issue.

What do you think will happen to the Emerald Triangle if Prop 19 passes?

Is the whole Marijuana industry (as it stands today) totally screwed if Prop 19 passes?

Have you professional growers made contingency plans?

It will cease to exist as well as with the way this law is writen... more people will be going to jail. Basically it is giving the power to the prohibitionist to tax and regulate as they see fit. It will make a few people rich and others suffer. Regardless of what people think... it will hinder the movement and possible destroy any chances of furthering marijuana freedom. Prop 19 is not freedom but taxation desguised as legalization.

if prop 19 passes some will say chaos, others will say civil war, growers around CA would load up on high power assault rifles and form a local militia and stick the fingers to the feds. Just kidding, what i think will happen is everyone will get arrested regardless of state laws, half the state of California will be behind bars! Obama is already stated he will sue Cali, also but im not sure if this will happen, people who grow under medical marijuana laws will be caught in the mix and thrown in jail along with others who smoke because of state rights.

Does prop 19 just focus on the consumption of marijuana? Or will the hemp industry go beyond, say to alternative fuel and textiles?
