I was curious as to what the effect on adding worms to my organic soil grow? I know worms will fertilize and aerate the soil. What Im unsure of is, will adding the worms to my pot attract other pests? Or will they harm the plants in anyway? I have my girls in 5 gallon buckets. Thanks in advance.

I use a rich composted soil with lots of organic matter in it and very rarely at the end of a grow do I not have worms. The area I am in is rich with worms, it is hard to get a shovel full of dirt and not get a worm. You just need to make sure that you some things for the worm to eat in your soil. Adding a top dressing of compost during the grow usually ensures that the worms stay healthy and it feeds the soil also. Good Luckbongsmilie

I always have worms, and I don't really worry about having too many. They will reach their own equilibrium within the pot, only those that can be fed and have space will survive

what an intriguing idea!
would this practicable in an indoor grow?
do i just go outside, dig-up a few worms, and then introduce them to my grow medium?
how many worms per gallon would be appropriate?
are there any possible hazards to my plants that introducing worms might bring on?

I put 3 per gallon don't need very much, too nervous they'll disrupt things too much. ;) Mind you, i use the big juicy nightcrawler guys.

what kind of nute schedule you using with the live worms? do you find they affect soil pH much at all (either up/down or as a stabilizer/buffer)? do they propagate? any consequential pest problems?

All I really do for the worms is top the soil between transplants just to give them some fresh food. Other than that, the soil PH seems to fluctate regularily and is easy to control, I find as far as Ph is concerned they seem to help keep everything balanced if anything add a bit of acidicty but very mild. I haven't noticed any propogation at all, which is good in my opinion. But im sure they could and would but maybe because they are contained they don't. Come to think of it i'm not too sure why they haven't but like i said i don't want them to. Lastly absolutly no pest problems thus far, which was my first major concern when i decided to use worms in an indoor enviironement. The only pest i've come across are 2 Spidermites, i killed them and impaled the corpses on toothpicks to deter any other mites that decide my girls are their host. lol, j/k :D but in all seriousness hopefully i don't see anymore.. the girls are retardedly beautiful this time.. gotta love Duke seeds <3

Worms are the best thing you can have in your medium when growing plants. You don't need fancy designer nutrients to get huge colas or giant flowers/veggies, people have been growing with good black compost only for years. Healthy soil means happy plants (=

the most important thing is to use soil from where you get the worms from...... 9 times out of 10 it will need no nutes for almost the whole grow as long as the worms are in the soil. you can use molasses if you wish the worms and the plants both love it! but the dirt where the worms come from is grade AAA organic. And this method makes over feeding impossible! organics are a time released food!

might try red wrigglers, the ones you use in the worm farms.. i tried worms once just cus i used compost from outback of the house and the plant did great since then i havn't used worms on purpose and have not noticed a decrease in yeild or quality but hey it can't hurt to have the little guys improving your soil

yeah my soil is from my backyard under my porch it's a compost area and i found worms in it and i believe that's why my plant is doing so well i thought it would be a good idea and now that i searched it up now i'm positive lol great post man

worms are for creating a fine no the finnest soil amdendment there is nxt to bats and sea fareing birds.don't put worms in your small pots.they will more than likely get hungry and start eating your mj roots.i might be totally wrong but i've raised worms and they make fast work of what they do.i used to raise'em under my kitchen sink.i didn't have very many but they ate everything i threw at'em very fast.they didn't smell and they provided me with great shit to grow my shit.even the thought of some getting in my grow would scare me.

Came across some earthworms (5) by accident today, so I put one in each of 5 different plants...we'll see what happens.
