What happened to the UN?

Im stoned just reading these forums on World Fucked Upness, and just thought of that, What has happened to the UN, i remember back in the 90's the UN was huge, now you just hear about individual Governments. I could have google searched an answer but its much more fun puttin it out there to you Stoners to give your ideas on the matter
