Just taking a look at all the different states and the laws they have on norml.org and to me it looks like ME has the best decriminalization laws. Anyone else have any input?

Not sure about any other states, but in MA if you are caught smoking or in possesion of < 1 ounce, you get a "fine" of $100, but no one ever pays them because it takes the state too much time and effort to enforce the payments and get you in court. Somewhat of a loophole here...really all that is happening for simple possesion is the cop may confiscate your stash or make you destroy it and any paraphenalia.

Also if you smoke and drive, there is almost zero chance of recieving a DUI if you are soley under the influence of MJ and a recent law passed deems that the smell of or appearence of marijuana smoke does not qualify as probable cause to search a parked vehicle. So you can clambake your car in a parking lot as long as you get rid of the weed or put your joint in the ashtray and close it.

But cross into New Hampshire and its a whole differnet world. Ironically, there's no sales tax and you don't have to wear a seatbelt..or even have car insurence...but they have a much more punishing attitude when it comes to cannabis or drugs in general, you are sure to be searched and arrested if a cop smells weed in your car there.

Stay away from California.

I am old and no longer crunchy with ketchup, so the dragons usually leave me alone, but they don't need much excuse to pull over just about anybody these days.
Revenue is needed cuz we're broke.

Our taxes are some of the highest in the nation.
Our schools are in sad disarray.

You can't beat our great weather (in S. Ca., anyway) just about any other place on the planet. For that very reason, many people want to live here.
So it's crowded as fuck.

Cost of living here is huge. We have ok food prices, but housing costs suck hairy donkey balls.
Ditto donkey balls if you need a job and aren't independently wealthy.

Step away from California...just step away.....

(born and raised here, I might add)

ETA: I didn't even mention we have no water, and electricity infostructure, along with just HOW it's obtained, is a debachle comedians have for breakfast. It really is sad.

It really doesn't matter if they are legal and in your name. Having a firearm if you have plants there makes it a violent crime. Additional mandatory 7 yrs here. If your plants aren't at your house you are in the clear.

Really? If your a caregiver you cannot legally own a gun. I highly doubt that here in California. The owner of my local dispense grows and loves guns.

I said here. I don't know cali rules. Under federal law I bet you would be screwed. However I have no idea. I just know the rules here.

Just does not sound right, That means all the Police would have todo after closing a shop is Lookup each name to every customer and see if their a gun owner.. Doesnt seem legit at all. Maybe if your doing illegal stuff from the get go, like selling.. or something but no way you would be given any charges that would stick by just Owning a gun legally and legally having bud or plants.
