What is the best salt based nutrient line?

I’m using age old organics for my indoor grow and testing out megacrop on my outdoor plants. Both are great but it really doesn’t get any easier than megacrop. Go to the Greenleaf Nutrients website and get the free 230g sample and try it out, you won’t be disappointed. 2FAABA2F-F9B3-4E5D-BDAA-49DECB9C5429.jpeg

how so? i've used jack's for almost two years now, inside and out, and it's about as easy as it gets. they have a variety of mixtures, you can pick one to suit your soil needs outdoors, or indoors. they don't include calcium in some of their mixes, so you need to add a little calcium now and then, otherwise, you can run jacks from seedling till harvest

I'm not saying it's hard, but the idea that its somehow easier to use than a one part like megacrop or maxibloom is objectively nonsense.

guess it depends on how you look at it. ease as far as pour some in some water and you're done, yes. but when you do have problems, i like being able to control exactly what and how much goes into each plant. that makes it easier to fix any problems, which makes my life easier.
so yeah, it's easy when things are going well.

Not really. With jacks you spend an extra minute mixing but you don't have to pH ever and you can feed the same amount from clone to harvest. Also if your indoor jacks doesn't smell like shit like megacrop does. And megacrops feeding suggestions on the package are not close to what you need so you have to spend time trying to figure out how much to give the plants.

Mega Crop, many growers will agree it is hands down the easiest and probably the best 1 part dry nutrient available..very easy to follow feeding instructions even a blind monkey can use it with great success. Use a PK boost near the end of flower if you feel the need but most growers say they don't need that extra PK...

Not sure about all of the product lines, but Jacks citrus blend doesn't have any calcium.
That could be a problem if it's not already in your soil.
So now you've gotta add that to your mix or use a foliar...

I tried the megacrop sample and my plants liked it. It is complete -- you don't have to add anything. PH also lines up perfect with 4 grams.

Yeah lots of positive reviews from the sample pack i guess it only takes a week of veg to know how well a nutrient works.

My sample lasted longer than a week, but I only used megacrop on a couple of test plants.
They did fine but so did the others.

Right now I'm just using what I've got on hand and it's working out fine.
Kinda fun to experiment.

If you know what you're doing, you can make anything work.

l did that exact thing with maxibloom, and that is only one thing to mix. Your statement(that jacks is the simplest) is factually incorrect.

you can nit pick if you want. you are "technically" correct, but the truth of the matter is that people will use what they like. what matters is the reason they "like" it. i like jack's for the control it grants me, the results i get from it, and the fact that it costs a fraction of what most bottled "systems" cost. i'm not saying anything negative about maxibloom or megacrop, they're both good lines, but they don't offer the control i like. but the title of the thread isn't which is the simplest, but which is the best, and that's a hard question to answer, because of these variables, and more.

Threads like these always turn into kind of a pissin' match.

There's really not a right or wrong answer here because people feed in so many different ways for their style of growing. I've used Dyna-Grow, Canna Coco, and Jacks Hydroponics over the past year. They all grow dank. I think it's more important to try understanding plant biology and what makes a plant tick.

As long as the plant is receiving all the macro, meso, and micro elements it needs, it's on the right track to grow great! Seems like 99% of the time a plant is deficient it's because of grower error.

I understand that "ease of use" can be a big deciding factor between choosing nutrient brands, but it shouldn't be the be all end all reason. Just because a nutrient is a 2-part or a 3-part doesn't make it inferior to a 1-part, and vice versa. In the past I was a proponent of the 1-part school of thought, but over time I've begun favoring the control that a 2 & 3-part powder give me.

I replied specifically to what I quoted, where he said it was easier than a one part, I am not advocating for one nutrient or the other. I just think that kind of exaggerating makes it hard to take people seriously

I'll have to try that next time how many grams per gallon do you use?
I didn't do a great job measuring accurately, but it was ~1tsp per gallon which I think is 6 or 7ish grams. I checked the pH the first couple times but it was 5.7ish both times so I stopped checking after that.

Nice I'll have to try that out in the small tent. That's all you used from veg till the end no additives?

I used recharge weekly and jumpstart as a foliar a few times in veg.
It had serious issues with bud flop at the end and I would have probably added a silica supplement if I ran it that way again.

I add a bloom boost on top of the Maxi-bloom (at three weeks) and a flush product at the end.

I think why Maxi-bloom gained popularity is that it's profile closely matches the Lucas formula. For those unfamiliar Lucas was/is a Forum denizen who developed a nutrient profile for cannibis that really caught on. There are plenty of websites out there detailing this.

Trying to squeeze out a Lucas formula from Jack's is more problematic. Which is why I use Maxi-bloom.
