What is the best way to dry buds out of your house/shed?

I have 2 northern lights 1 og kush and 1 nycd that were put out late. Since they were put out later in the year they wont be to big so size really isnt a problem , its finding a dark place. From my research Thc needs to be dried in a dark place. Ive thought of clipping the buds from the plants and putting them in brown paper bags inside of a huge cardboard box or something. Im not entirely sure how Im going to do it but I know I cant have it drying at my house. Any ideas?

You're right.... Dark, some air flow, undisturbed (no people or animals brushing up against it, hanging.
If you can't dry at your house, how are you going to be able to check it periodically and keep an eye on progress?

I have the same problem. I'm contemplating one of those Rubbermaid mini-sheds that I can stash in the woods somewhere.

I'm going to use a tool shed &/or a barn this year. There might be low indirect light but I don't think that is an issue. Air-circulation is important so I will run a small ambiant fan.

Hang them upside down from a tree for a week or so, trim the buds, and then paper bag them indoors for the final drying. The fan leaves hang down over the buds protecting them from most light and a little rain shouldn't hurt them either.

I hunt everyday and am in the woods about everyday so checking them periodically will be easy, like i said finding a cool dark place is the hard part. I also plan on
buying a few small battery powered fans to help with air circulation. Also deff. not sun drying Im not mexican. I want to get the most potency/taste that I possibly can. The suns uv rays degrade the thc.

Yeah. The sun degrades thc ....blah blah blah. They have some of the most potent weed I have ever smoked. Tasted great too......It was just very harsh.

Where the fuck do you live to hunt every single day? And sun drying is pretty good.

I bet they have some nice danks down there... they just send all the schwag to all us desperate americans! It was probably harsh because it was dried too fast or something. I want some acapulco gold right about now... going on a tolerance break

Yeah, I hear that whole tolerance break thing. I got to the point where I was smoking everyday all day. Starting going through bags like it was chips or something. Now I'm only buying a gram here and there. Shit, all I gotta do is mow my cousin's yard and he gives me bud. Lol. But for the drying, I'm hanging mine up in my closet with a small fan on low to dry, then curing them in Mason jars. Got a handful laying around from canning, and gonna put those bad boys to good use. Never had sun dried bud though. Is it harsh even through a vaporizer or a bong?

Yeah.....I smoked it out the bong and it was harsh as FUCK. But got me SUPER loaded. Idk bout the vaporizer though.....I didn't use them back then. And. I am going to be hang drying in my office with a oscillating fan as well......might even use a dehumidifier to keep the humidity in check. I have 2 cases of mason jars waiting to be filled haha. Hopefully I can fill each and every one.

If UV causes so much degradation, then how does THC manage to develop - and remain potent - through the flowering cycle? A hell of a lot of the weed south of the border is sun dried, right on the extremely rural roads from what I understand. Harshness is much more of a genetic feature than a result of the drying environment.

The synthesis and breakdown of psychoactive resins occurs when the plant is alive, too- and it continues producing more during its reproductive cycle. The trichomes changing colors is a visible sign of the breakdown the amber color is a sign that much of the THC is degraded into secondary compounds.
Minimizing exposure to intense light after chop slows this process.....

why do you say this? "Harshness is much more of a genetic feature than a result of the drying environment."
from what i read and have observed, the exact opposite is true...
