What is the main reason why most ppl grow indica instead of sativa?

Indica is faster than sativa, most indica is 8 weeks, most sativa is at least 12 weeks, indica is more heavy of a high. indica is shorter and more compact. you can make indica's high like a sativa if you harvest early, or couchlock if you harvest later.

Main reason i grow indica.............KUSH.

dont get me wrong there are some pretty heavy sativa as well, and one of my favs is jack herrer (sativa).

i would say speed 8 to 10 weeks flower vs.12 to 16 weeks and size 8 to 10 feet on an oututdoor indica vs up to 20 feet on a sativa imho a good cross is the way to go

basically like they mentioned, faster flower, good yield, heavy buzz, and a lot of times due to height considerations or training techniques

I trained a Silver Haze Indoors.
Even after some LST it stands almost 6 feet.
I brought it in the flower room around a foot tall.
It looks like I still have another month to go, all the stretching is done but this thing is massive.
I bet this cola will be over 2oz. Give me a bit and I'll post a pic.
I have been doing all indica and this is my 1st sativa. I Kinda like it, just a little crazy.

I love sativas much better but after growing Sugar Haze and Arjans haze #2 I found that it doesn't produce enough for me.
Sativas take roughly twice the time to rippen, grow high, produce airy buds, need LOTS of light as they grow pretty damn big etc.

I like sativa\indica crosses.

I'm currently growing only Indica dominant strains due to thoes reasons.

However, I'm waiting till I'll get the space and funds to run a sativa again. I just like them much better high-wise.

my arjans haze #3 are 4 weeks 12/12 and about 36" tall very bushy so far i would say its an indoor friendly strain at 80% sativa and i love the fresh minty smell of the one pheno i have its all in what u want out of ur smoke from a medical stand point i think a strong sativa is the best for me helps with my panic attacks makes me more out going vs. passed out on the couch spilling bong water all over myself lol

Looks like u got all the info ya need so ill give more of the same lol. In short its because people are impatient, but other reaons are medicinal properties, height restrictions, or like me I am perpetual with a "backbokne" strain. Which basically means there is 1 strain that I know inside and out, as well it has the main properties I look for to aleviate my problems, therefore ANY strain that goes into my garden must finish in 10 weeks to keep things going according to plan. This limits me to indica and indica dominant hybrids. It is also a "backbone" in the sense that I know it well... Too well. And therefore if I bring in a new strain or things go south I KNOW I will always be pulling consistent quality and quantity yields with which is important to have as a medical grower with people depending on the fruits of your labor. But yeah main 3 will be flowering time, height restriction, and medicinal properties, typically indicas are higher in cannabinol(cbn) and cannabidol(cbd). These compounds are more directly linked to aleviation of pain nausea and cancer symptoms (also been shown to be a great anitpsychotic, anti-epileptic,vasorelaxant, antispasmodic, and even anti bacterial) than thc which is more profound for its psychoactive properties (cbn and cbd are non psychoactive meaninf smoked alone they wouldn't get you high. Though they do play an important factor in overall stone) thc also has medicinal properties most notably its use as an antiproliferative, anti pasmodic, antiepileptic, anorectant, and as a bone stimulant. In the medical community ( around here at least) sever pain decresed appetite and cancer are the more common illnesses, meaning indicas generally will have more of the medicinal properties they seek.... Ok I think that's enough lol.

i grew 2 pineapple punch plants outside (14 feet tall) ,they are a sativa dominant, they took a little longer (10weeks) but it was well worth it ,had a great cerebral high.

I agree with all thats been said.

I started with indica bagseeds- they were cool...

Then switched to greenhouse seeds a few indica's tried... Amazing results.

Then right after that when for greenhouse sativa's its been fun and interesting. Certainly more of a challenge, indoors, hydro- done it. They get monsterous, they drink gallons a day, they are fluffier buds, but they are a unique high and taste. And they do serve some good medical uses.

However I am switching back to indicas for yet another previously stated reason KUSH. Kings Kush and Great White Shark. Both Indica varities from Greenhouse will soon be planted, as the last of my Nevilles Haze and Hawaain Snow finish up.

What I've read/been told agrees with what's already been mentioned - that during the 70's growers worked with a lot more sativas, but eventually discovered that Afghan indica strains tended to grow more like shorter shrubs than bamboo trees (with the longer flowering time of sativas compounding this problem) and ultimately yield more dry weight, so over the years more and more hybrids emerged and the number of truly pure sativas dropped drastically. I personally prefer the more energetic "Thai" high of sativa-heavy hybrids; I'd rather be able to carry on a conversation and/or just DO things while I'm high (plus the main reason I smoke is to alleviate anxiety and at least temporarily relax my social inhibitions). As a pointless sidenote, I think it's pretty interesting to consider that marijuana has essentially evolved alongside humanity since its discovery in ancient China (many governments devote funds to clearing wild hemp fields, while the vast majority of strains grown are cultivated for their drug properties rather than flax). There's a sort of genetic bottleneck effect: Basically, if the drug properties of marijuana were never discovered prohibition would've just never happened - but you wouldn't see the beautiful strains you do today - you know, the ones with resin glands so dense and glistening that you can barely even make out the sugar leaves:)

i think indica is more comercial of a stain then anything. most people are tryin to sell there bud so they want the easiest plant they can grow and make money off. as for the better "high" sativas are the way to go. indicas are boring and very common, and they knock you out.

I split my flowering room in two sections. One side has the larger sative dominant strains. The other has shorter indica's and small growing plants. I like the crosses though. White Widow or Skunk 1. Both are so simple to grow and are easily outproducing the Power Kush and the Burmese Kush. Not to mention their flowering time isn't much longer.
