What is this plant?

My wife acquired this plant from her hairdresser who said he was killing it. I repotted it and its showing new growth around the base, both leaves and roots. Problem is, I have no fucking clue what it is.
He said it was an orchid, but lets face it, he knows hair. Anyone want to take a stabberoo?

Would have to agree, based on those leaves alone.. orchid... perhaps yellow orchid.

yup, my guess would be yellow cymbidium as well.
if you want it to flower you'll need to give it a 15 degree-ish spread between day and night temperatures for a couple weeks.

Yup, would definitely agree with the 15-ish F flux in temp, and keep a close eye on the orchid soil.. keep the pH between 5.8-6.5 as extremes.. 6.1-6.2 being 'optimal' or you'll be asking for a headache.
