your in a place where you have to be careful,, meaning,, you will be splitting hairs at this point,, and the discussions get LONG,,,
allof these cobs will "still" make moonshine,, and all lights grow MJ,, should you use citi , cree or vero,, yes,, meaning chose any of them,, the amore lights,, ( love them),, are just more spectrums,, and some of them even have a uv bulb,
just stay on this course,, try not to get over whelmed,, just stay away from Blurple purple china,, if you can

Not to mention, UV in your light on permanently really sucks for your eyes. Unless you're constantly wearing glasses while around your plants. Better off having a light with no UV and add a reptile bulb you can simply turn off when you're around them, or run it on a separate timer so you never see it.

It is a bit overwhelming. ha. But, as it stands my choice is between a Timber build or that amare se250 if that deal is still a thing. Which would do me best going forward and give best results. And if Timber... what model... should I go with the 400w vero or 300w cree?

I'm switching from a 400w hps/mh to the one above except I'm running in a 2x4 tent. I will say that if you go this route he is really busy so it might take a couple of weeks to get it. I ordered last week an got an email saying it will be built and tested by this Friday. I would say if you have any questions just ask him he's a cool dude that will do his best to answer any of your questions.

If you wanted to stay around 250w like the Amare, there is the 250w Citizen CLU048 build seen HERE. Saves over $100 compared to the Amare if you can get the sale price.
A 3'x3' tent can use alot more power than that though, especially if you scrog and use the entire space. If that's the case you could get the
400w Vero 29 V7 seen HERE. It's the same price as the Amare on sale and it has about 30% more power.
The Cree 3590 build 300w is also about the same price.

Lol I want as much power as I can get. WhI checked would be better in my case the 300w cree or 400w vero. what is the difference between the vero and cree

The Cree are great but they are slightly older and more expensive. The Vero are newer and more efficient and cheaper. All these cobs are just light photons with really good spectrums so it makes alot of sense to get the most efficient ones available. 400 watts would really maximize that space. I built a similar light with 400w and I use it in a 2'x4' space. 3'x3' is only 1sqft bigger.

You wanna rock the 3x3 for $600 and not DIY?
Then my recommendation will not be an LED light.
Get you one of these:

Add the extra 4200K bulb for veg switch it to the 3100K for flower and call it a day. Let the LED bandwagon move on and re-assess next year what's going on in the market, lot's of new things to come.
Or get a solid 600W ballast and good reflector and run the Hortilux Blue MH in veg and the Enhanced HPS in flower.
If you want COB's wait until you can build it will be a lot less.

You say you want the best yielding light for the money, i still offer the ss315 as best for that space..... You say you want to do scrog... Here are two under ss315 lights...... Sometimes led isn't the best choice..

Because there's more to life than COB's and if cmh is outdated tech you have no idea what you speak of lol.
It so outdated growmau's latest build is a copy of an Amare light with supplemental red and blues and UV guess what's already in the cmh.................

I would go for the timber lights and my reasoning is this...
1) closest to DIY build so you can get a better understanding of how it workz and pin point the problem easier if something goes wrong. (Not that it will)
2) If your interest in LEDs is huge now...this will only get larger when you own and grow with one. In the future, your interest in DIY may also grow, your tent size/circumstances may change. A timber light frame can be torn down, components re used easier and custom to your needs.
Anywayz...have fun... This can be a serious place..

I dont need to let you know anything. Stop being emotional about lighting. Look at the OP parameters. I said do the COB if he was gonna build it but factoring in his space and budget COB is not the best choice (pre built) for max power.
