What light should I buy???

hps. I would go to a local hydro store. shop around . get a magnetic ballasts its cost a lot less. does the same shit and get a flat glass air cooled hood. 8 inch

how many plants you doing ? might suggest 2 600 waters. much better then 1 thousand . easy to cool. more coverage area. huge advantages 600 rock 1000 waters . I traded 4 1k waters for 8 600 much better. way more yield

I'm going to do around 10 to 16 plants. The plan is to get at least one pound per harvest. I was thinking about doing two 600's instead of one 1000watt. Not sure yet though.

I would do two 600 . do 6 plants per hps. what I do . veg them 2 feet tall. and put them under hps. the final height is 3.5 to 4 feet tall. average . 1.5 to 4 ounces per plant depending on strand. one 1000 then 8 plants. but light get raised up then light intensity is actually less then the 600 . and 1000 watt . harder to cool so the light will be 2 feet high . but the 600 will be 8 to 10 above. and if you had a good hood flat glass. you will be rocking it. and the 600 . you can veg 6 plants. then pump 6 under the light and the other one is off save you electric. so you can do stages. or if your plant number is low then you turn on the other 600 put I a mh bulb and do hps and mh in flower. get high quality buds and bulk. 600 waters will cost you double but in the long run you will be thanking your self you got them. and in the summer the 1000 waters are a bitch to cool . the 600 are very easy to cool . or 2 600 waters very easy to cool compared to a single 1000 watt like I posted above I traded 4 thousand waters for 8 600 I get double the yield with only using 800 watts more ! . honestly I was not doing that well with 1000 because of the heat issues. I don't even run ac in the summer in the basement with 8 600 going . the 4 1000 watts I used to run (3) portable ac units at 1100 watts each . the 600 I just circulate the air in the entire basement its stays cool like it should. don't let me talk you into any thing. just giving my opinion. I hate 1000 waters. lol

10-16 plants for 1 lb harvest? That's a lot of work for just a lb. In an 5X5 tent with one 1000w light I was getting 1.5lbs from 4 plants, in soiless mix with a 5 week veg stage. I was just learning. If you had 2 X 600W you could easily get 2.5 lbs out of 8 plants.

1500 watts of hps should garantee 2lbs for sure.

Well...as long a everything goes decently. I struggled on my first couple of gardens. Once the basics were dialed in though... Anyway, don't expect much the first time out. 1200w is plenty for a couple pounds if all else is good.
