hey all.

im a fair bit early for next seasons grow but wanted to get some good seeds organized.

at the moment i have just one bagseed plant thats going into flower and next year i want to grow 3 plants all a different strain...

so the question is which 3 strains?? ive been looking at some seed banks and have come across many strains its a bit overwhelming.

i will be growing in victoria australia and dont think a late finisher will be a problem.

also which seedbanks do people recomend i need them to be sent to Australia obviously!

what i am thinking so far is

WHITE WIDOW.

BIG BUD.

LIGHT OF JAH.

not sure how any would go in this enviroment or whether or not im skilled enough to grow them!

any help would be appreciated . PEACE

honestly too much to choose from, im finding it hard to decide. if ur in a northern climate get a plant with a short flowering time, and look for a sept or at the latest oct harvest, lean away from late oct-nov harvest, and more often than not the breeder arent rite on the outdoor harvest time

I have some Nirvana Short Ryders I want to guerrilla grow for harvest in April (perfect temps but only 13 hr daylight). I live at 34 degrees N latitude. Conventional internet wisdom suggests they need light 20/4. It gets too hot to to it in May (over 90 F).

I need to keep them short too - the shorter the better. I am thinking about spraying them with Bushmaster. Any opinions? Anyone?

I think the Attitude ships to Australia don't they? For the most part, Attitude is the Wal-Mart of seedbanks around here. Except, of course, their gear isn't cheap Chinese garbage.

From what I understand, Australian customs is pretty though. You might want to keep any orders small in case they are seized.

Instead of "White Widow" purchase Mr. Nice Seeds Black Widow. It is the original Cup winning White Widow that was renamed. If you purchase a "White Widow" you will end up with a knockoff or, at best, an F2. Instead of Big Bud purchase Mr. Nice Seeds Critical Mass. It's a better reworked improved version of Big Bud.

As for the other .... you decide. I am not familiar with it.

I agree with Brick Top all the way. Research the genetics and you'll be surprised how many poor quality copies there are out there.
I just ordered Mr. Nice Super Silver Haze. Read the forums on Super Silver Haze. There is another company also selling Super Silver Haze and they are ruining the reputation of a great plant. Most people who don't order the Mr. Nice version complain about 16week+ flowering times and 6 foot plants.
My advice is to think backwards. Don't find a strain you want and then go out and blindly order from the 1st company you find that sells it. Find some well known breeders, then look at the strains they offer and make a choice.
Some good choices are:
Serious Seeds - original breeder of AK47
DJ Short - original breeder of Blueberry
Mr. Nice - original breeder of White Widow (renamed Black Widow after he and his partner split)

These breeders offer nothing but top quality seeds. Companies like Serious seeds spend years perfecting a very small but very dependable selection of strains that won't let you down even if they do lack the latest flashy names and new combos that everyone these days seem to enjoy.

hey sonar yeh i was checking out there website the other day looks pretty sweet. im pretty sure they send to australia as they have aus dollars in the payment part.. only thing i would be worried about is if they dont get through as australian customs is one of the strictest in the world, so yes i will be sure to only order 10 at a time or so. Thanks.

went and looked at all the seeds those companies had to offer and didnt see anything that had some purple in it. Only one that had any color looked like blueberry and i'm not really wanting to run that. Could someone suggest a reputable company who produces some purple plants?

High Life Seeds sell the Black Rose.......redest, purplest plant Ive seen yet

If you are new to growing, I would choose AK-47 over Blueberry. I never grew it, but Blueberry is known to be a somewhat finicky plant and isn't a strain usually recommended for beginners.

Also, a lot of strains marketed as "purple" don't always turn purple for you. Many only have certain phenos that will actually turn purple. Conversely, a lot of non purple strains WILL turn purple if the temperatures get cool enough and/or if they run later into the fall. Not saying don't go for it, just not to assume 100% purple plants just because it is advertised as a "purple" strain.

Don't know about shipping to Australia, but from my experience, the most reputable websites are Attitude, Sannie's, Herbie's Head Shop and Sensible Seeds. And I think they all have stealth shipping options. As far as breeders, I may be a little lower down the $ ladder than some other people with my choices, but have had great results with Dinafem, Delicious, Soma, Royal Queen, TGA Subcool. This year I'm trying some G13 Labs, World of Seeds, Sensi, Female Seeds, Dutch Passion, Emerald Triangle, next generation, and since my outdoor growing season is opposite yours, I'll let you know how they all do, if I remember and am not in a cell somewhere! Good luck

hey all still not sure what to get but im going to order one night this week, how many would u recomend to buy at once? i want about 20 or 30 seeds all up should i order them all at once or get two shipments? so ive decided on the black widow from mr nice, only thing i dont like is you cant get feminized seeds and because im only going to grow 3-4 plants i dont want to end up with any males, could i force flower the plant to show sex when the plant is only young and let it re-veg? also looking at a sativa plant from barneys farm? and for the other strain im yet to decide.. maybe purple haze or northern lights ill have to keep looking! thanks

10x black widow
10x ak47 (serious seeds) or critical mass (mr.nice): quality and easy to grow
10X some of mr.nice's haze (mango, ssh, neville's) or kali mist (serious seeds)

You will not find a more skilled, more experienced, more successful, more reputable breeder than Scott Blakey (AKA Shantibaba ... owner/breeder of Mr. Nice Seeds).

Thanks for the replys so I'm definetly going to get some black widow , but the other 2 strains I want feminized seeds I'm leaning towards ak- 47 now and the other will be a sativa or as close to pure Sativa as I can get, what do you all think about force flowering the black widow in it's early stages to show sex then letting it go back to veg? The super silver haze looks sweet aswell but I don't have the space or time for another strain To see if it's going to be male or female, Peacee

You can always take a clone of the candidate plants and put the clones into flowering to determine sex rather than flowering the whole plant and putting it back in veg.
