Not sure why my leaves are turning brown and crispy on the edges. Heres my setup the plant is a baby white rhino, under 125 watt cfl 24/7 in a drip system that turns on for 30 minutes every 3 hours with co2 from the DIY section. Plant is 15 days old today seems awfully small? there are no nutes as of yet, I had nurse it through nute burn already. Now its growing like well a weed but I got these brown edges? Thanks in advance:confused:

looks like too much water or the water Ph may be out of spec. If you were feeding I would say nute burn but you aren't so I didn't .

those edges definitely look like nute burn. you said you've nursed it through that, so i'd think either burning (again) or perhaps you're not done nursing it through that. i've seen leaves that were burned briefly completely shutoff and die over time.

definitely check your ph though.

are the edges of your leaves turning up? if so, this may be due to your light being too close and putting off too much heat. what do you have in the way of ventilation going on in there?

have you been Ph'ing your water? this will make a huge difference for you if you aren't. water that is not properly Ph'ed will lock out different nutrients at different levels. you should be aiming for a Ph between 5.5 and 6.5 at the most. i try to keep mine between 5.5-6.2, 5.8 being ideal in hydroponic applications.

one last thing, do you have a TDS meter? extremely hard water will give you problems as i have found out in my own situation. investing in good quality meters and learning how to use them properly to control your grow are probably your best investment after your lights. without a Ph and TDS meter, you are essentially playing a guessing game with hydro. i talk too much. :peace:

Hey Johnny I appreciate the fact that you talk to much. There are no nutes in the system. The edges are not turning up. Ventilation I have a fan blowing against the wall that turns the air gently back to the plant barely shaking leaves. ph is 6.0 I do not have a tds meter but here I boil the water before (heard or read somewhere that boils the impurities out of the water, but maybe I am just stoned and made that up) let it cool ph it then put it in the sytem. I am a complete noob and really appreciate any tips!

I moved the light up a little about 6 inches to tops, is it possible that I need to add nutes?? The plant has no nutes right now because I added nutes when it was first born like a dumbass and burned it.

are you sure you rinse everything off really good? that still looks dirty. Whats your ph? dishwashing is very based so it might change your ph if its still there.

Doesn't seem slimy or soapy anything rinsed it pretty well. ph is about 6.0 dont have enough cash for a meter just phing with the solution.

Yes, those look REALLY small for 2 weeks. Check out my grow in my sig. Those are right at 3 weeks. You dont really have enough light first of all. And another thing, if you get water on your leaves the light can burn them. Despite what people think, cfl's get pretty damn hot up close. They can burn plants very easy, especially if they have water on them. The water acts sorta like a magnifying glass causing the light to burn the leaves. I would either moved the light away, make sure not to get ANY water or nutes on your leaves when the lights are on, or just water in the dark period. Hope that helps.
