hello freinds,
got a question that has a lot of answers, need help.my tap water comes out of the faucet ph of 8.5,i bubble my water for 24 hrs because you can smell the clorine 10 ft away.
project house and dont want to add ro system because im selling as soon as it is finished, with that being said ,what i do like i said is bubble it 24 hrs ,turn off air and let it sit another 24 hr. ph after bubbling is 9 after sitting 24 hr still 9. have come back and checked 2 days later and still 9.
ive tried after bubbling and letting it sit for 2days using the ph down and took it down to 6.8 wait a day check again 9 wtf right,i grow in soil and it buffers it ,threw the lime i guess but i have no issues with the grow.
question 1
the water defitnely has lime in it and i go threw a water heater every 2 yrs,you can put a half gallon of tide soap in my washing machine and barely get suds. what can i put in it to stabilize the lime content without going to a ro system.
i want to expand my grow to dwc or f&d but cant figure how to stabilize the water that will have nutrients and air in the water.air does raise the ph,
so im open for any suggestion and would really like opinions

Buy bottled water. My water is hard and plant's hate it tho the ph 7.3 - 7.1..
I buy bottled water wich 6.2 and soft and the plants absolutely love it.
You can find out the ph of bottled water on the nutritional information part.
Hope it helps

Sorry you are having trouble. I'm discussing this very issue regarding hardness and pH on another thread. Agree with the poster who suggested the bottled water. It's the easiest and cheapest way to go.

See chlorine is no biggy ..more here : http://www.ext.colostate.edu/ptlk/1548.html

ask you local garden store about your local water situation, even phone the water company and drill them like no other

imo and as a last resort I'd compromise use 50/50 local and store bought

above all don't go DWC until this is resolved

if really that bad replace the pots soil once you hit bud
ya vostok, that what im doing now half and half, gotta get it straight want to go bigger and got to cure this problem, dont want to buy ro system ,will be selling this house as soon as i finish the remodel, thanks for the input havent heard from you in a while

my tap is 7.3-7.8 and 105ppm for the past 4+yrs of growing. and I bubble 24/7 in a 45gal drum with 2x air pumps and 4x large air stones. just ph down when your ready to use and use it. I recheck my aero cloners daily as the ph will go up a bit, whys it a big deal to ph down as needed? I don't get it. also I noticed water temp plays a small factor in ph.
