in the past ive used coolers for reservoirs steeping up to 4x8 trays and looking for a 100gal reservoir
thought of useing a pair of 55gal drums only problem is raising me trays to tall and "hydroponic reservoirs"
are a bit expensive around $250. what low profile resi's are you guys useing or what have you done to keep
your trays around 2 - 2 1/2 feet off the ground.

rubbermaid stock tanks? or ive seen people lay the 54 gallon drums on their sides?.

or some folks make holes in their floors to fit the tubs into?

I'm going for a cheap one maybe even with semi transparent bottom, glueing the lid to it, and then build a wooden box around it covered in pond foil and with it's own lid. So the wooden box will work as cover against the light while keeping the splattering sound to a min as well. The main reason is simply needing a low rez to leave enough space for the plants.

I have built several large reservoirs with plywood and 2x4's. then just lay a harbor freight silver tarp in there and fold the corners nicely.

It's also nice because you can empty the Rez and just take the tarp outside and spray it off to clean it.
