What type of bulb is this.

Just found numbers on the bulb and a search on google says it's an hps bulb.Since it's only 100 watss should i use it or my 4 cfl bulbs.

Depends during which stage your plants are, MH is highly effective for Vegetative phase while HPS is the gold standard for Flowering.. As far as the one in the picture it looks like a mini version of my MH bulb.. :leaf:

Whats the difference between MH & HID bulbs? I know what they stand for Id like to know which one is best suited for which job.

Color Temperature (CT) - Color temperature, which is measured in Kelvin, indicates whether a lamp has a warm, midrange or cool color appearance. "Warm" light sources have a low color temperature (2000-3000K) and feature more light in the red/orange/yellow range. Light with a higher color temperature (>5000K) features more blue light and is referred to as "cool."

You can veg and flower under either HPS or MH and it will work. The MH does work best for veg and the HPS works best for bloom as already stated and I should add that a mixed spectrum of both during bloom has worked better for me than just HPS.

If you have the ballast and fixture to run that bulb of yours in then go for it.
