What watt?

I have 10 seeds growing in a 1 meter square box. I have a choice between a 200w hps or a 400w hps. I'm thinking that 400 may be too much to start with? Should I start with the 200 and swap to 400 when plants have grown a little?

A 250 watter is for a 3' x 3' space which is a little less than a meter meter so the rest on the outskirts won't be covered. A 400 watter is for a 4' x 4' space which is more than a meter. Get the 400 watter, you will have bigger buds anyways. Make sure your bulb has the best lumen rating and a good spectrum!! Sunmaster bulbs are probably the best;)

Get the 400 watter, you will never beat the sun, when they are grown in the wild they sprout right into full blown sunshine and 400 watts isn't even close to that.

The main thing to do is make sure the light is on and over the soil before it sprouts. If you do this the plant will adjust itself to whatever the lightsource is.
