What would YOU do in this closet space? Pictures included!!

Hey gardeners, I am a legal patient growing a couple plants for personal use. I am in a closet that is 5" 10 inches tall, 5" 10 inches long and 2" 6 inches deep. Currently, I have 2x 150w hps and 2x 43w cfls for side lighting. I have 3 plants that have been lst'd and topped. This little setup has been enough for me to grow what I want but I think I can do a little more. I'm curious to see what any of you think? Would it be possible to get a 400w in there? Would heat be too much from a 400w? I cannot cut holes for ducting or alter the closet in anyway....The temps with the current lights are mininmal probably around 75-80 (also it's summer in socal and soon it's going to be fall and winter which means cooler temps outside the closet.) I keep the sliding doors open when the lights are on for airflow and have a tower oscillating fan in one corner, small desk fan and air purifier in the other corner. Are you talking about getting rid of the two 150w lights and replacing them with a 400 watt? If so, I can't imagine that a 400 watt would be that much hotter than the two already in there.

If you are talking about adding the 400w on top of the 150s already in there, that's going to get hot, fast.

If it were me, I would stick with that until I got a bigger space. I would also really consider some means of ventilation to move the air in there, otherwise you might have some problems later on.

A lot of plant, and not a lot of air movement freaks me out.

Hey thanks for the reply, and Yeah I would be replacing the 150's with a 400, not combining all 3. Also, outide of the closet I have a large rotating blade fan on the ceiling of the room which I think helps the air flow a bit overall. Any other input anyone??

My closet is 6 foot tall by 6 foot wide by 2 feet deep, or just under 2 feet. I run a 600w hps and have 3 DWC totes on the go. Don't seem to encounter any issues, although it required sawing a hole in the ceiling for extraction.

Straight into the attic. I'd exhaust into my bedroom if i had the option of having a carbon filter in plain sight and had no attic to utilize. But without the extraction even the 400w i have would have been a bit touch and go. Luckily we don't get the warmest of summers in the UK so cold is often more of an issue than hot. My cabs gonna get real cold come winter evenings

is the ceiling 5'10 or is that ur top when ur lights are at their maximum height? if ur ceiling is 5'10 i would say good luck thats pretty low i would definitely go with a scrog in that situation since ur limited height wise i have one that go out of hand and that little fucker is peaked at 6'4 lol not such a bad thing.. how many plants were u thinking i would recommend 3 but thats for my style of growing veg them fat harvest fat.. If ur going for numbers i would say no more than 6 in there and thats already to many 3 would be perfect ( females that is... don't just start 3 take ur best 3 females) u could also go with a parabolic scrog or a u shaped scrog and then go with one vertical light u would have minimal light loss and would use all of ur space.. another question are u growing n soil or hydro? docent matter but if ur going hydro u could to a flooded pipe system.. it would allow u to have like 20 single cola plants.. u said ur a med patient i live in az and their way strict with numbers is why i would say 3 and take ur best.. or try and find a bigger space which is probably impossible but if u can do it.. what strain are u planning on with? if u go with an auto flower that might work.. my buddy just grew out some ak47x lowryder and i was honestly shocked by the quality.. he took about 31gs dry so thats another option and that was done in 63 days from seed so quick stash to

the ceiling ides is a great one.. go on google and search "6 inch duct fan" get 2 an intake and exhaust so ur sucking in cool air.. I'm assuming ur house isn't as hot as mine in az.. then the exhaust will cool ur room significantly, but this won't work if u have co2 which i haven't read anywhere but who knows.. and 3 DWC buckets would e clutch in there thats what i did 2 grows ago and damn those little bitches Blew up quick

cool, thanks for the replies tip. If you notice in my second pic, above the top of the closet is a 2 two foot tall little cupboard thing. Do you think I could cut a hole in the closet roof and suck the hot air into this little two foot tall area? I would really prefer not having to cut into the closet because I rent... but if i had to i'd saw a hole in it for some bigger herbs. P1010001.jpgP1010003.jpg

The main thing i'm worried about is heat and ventilation. I am just wondering if I can do a 400 without ducting or fans (ballast seperate outside the closet) without it being too hot. I would only do 2 plants and either top and lst the shit out of them or scrog like you said. I'm used to keeping them low and I like bushier plants anyways, i'd really love to maximize my potential in my space if I were able to get a 400 in there. I grow in soil and hand water. Thanks for the input btw g13..

with out any ventilation i would not use a 400 but you could always go the led route. or just get a cooltube and fan and honestly id keep the two 150 there and test out the temp for a few days with no plants to make sure its not to hot.
