what would you do with 12 raw 1kw hps ballasts?

i happened across a bargain, and got a box of ballasts (and they all work!!) what would you guys do with these things? i can't possibly use all this; anyone have an idea on what they would go for on ebay?

No idea, do a search for completed listings. I'm sure at least 50 each, but could be a lot more.

i scoped ebay; didn't find any hps raw ballasts, but i found a raw mh 1k for 162$.....

hps are worth more than mh, right?

wow. that's quite a find. it would be a shame not to put at least some of those to use especially with Audrey II's cousin

these are raw ballasts, not a pro cased fancy pretty stuff.... so i'm really not sure; i'd think they'd be close to the same price, i'm looking all over for price comparisons on new ones...

right, just the ballast. no housing or cord...1000 Watt HPS Raw Ballast. This ballast runs a 1000w HPS bulb.

these ballasts are in good working order, practically new condition; do you guys think 100$ would be a good starting bid? bm's link shows 151$ for a new one....

more than i should have; we tested them all, and three are making a weird noise (there are 15 total) and we figured those are no good or are going to go bad soon. they're making a really loud buzzing/rattling sound.

leaving 12 good ones

Set them up on some fire retardant material. Wire them up, plug em in. Done. I run a naked ballast for my 400w MH.

I have been keeping my eye on raw ballast kits for a while. I have seen the kits sell as low as 25 dollars with 0 shipping, and I have seen them for well over 150$. I guess it depends on what you want for them. I wanted to buy the 1k hps ballast kit for 25$ but I don't know what I would do with it. I would be way to scared of burning my house down, cause all I got is a closet. Just don't feel safe sticking a 1k watter in there, so I keep my eyes peeled for a 400 or 600w

thought i'd give you guys a heads up; i'm selling the ballasts for $90+ flat rate shipping, and 20'' cool tubes for 100$ + shipping. i have bulbs if needed.
