I got 4 plants in my basement, but currently looking to do a major reno in my house (switching from elec, to gas heat. adding in a furnace ductwork and air conditioning). so i'm about to get a bunch of estimates done and having dozens of contractors unknown to me around my plants make me nervous.

I am in Canada and it is legal for me to have 4 plants but still feel iffy. My tent is right next to my electrical panel and with the fans and stuff it is quite loud and not really stealthy.I am on the fence about just sayin fuck it and having no shame with nothing to hide or just putting my plants outside for the summer. their in 5 gallon pots about to flip to flowering so it wouldn't hurt them to spend the summer outside.

I'm so used to keeping these things hidden lol it's in my nature. I just wanted to have a mid summer harvest. and having these 4 outside makes them more prone to getting stolen, and i'd have to wait till October to harvest instead of august.

what would you guys do?

Yeah theft is an issue. Not sure what your neighbors are like. I have a buddy who was doing his first legal grow outdoors 5 years ago and his crop was mostly stolen from his fenced yard while he slept. 6 big ass plants that were probably 4 pounds ish each. He had 6 foot corrugated steel fencing. smh He was very secretive and it definitely wasn't one of his friends that ripped him off. Probably neighborhood kids that smelled the weed. He even had a pitbull that they just distracted with a beef leg bone.

I wouldn't sweat it them being indoors, I had a woman from the government in my apartment while she was on the job and she didn't say shit. You don't have to worry about the contractors like Renfro said it's the kids around the neighborhood that you gotta watch out for.

Move the tent someplace else in the house out of the "line of fire" of where the contractors will be working. It may be an inconvenience to you for a bit, but better safe than sorry.

i agree with taco. when my landlord comes to my house i'll ask specifically which room he needs access to. i'll move the plants to a bathroom/spare room/ and close the door and pretend someone is in there taking a shit or something so he cant go in.

its legal for me too, but the less people who know, the better, imo.

moving the tent isnt really an option, i only have room for it in that one space. and the whole house's heating and cooling is getting done so every room is gonna be worked on i imagine.

i've decided to just take my chances outside.

ill dismantle my tent and hopefully i can start again in the fall. now its just to figure out a spot for them outside. thanks for the replies guys
