I haven't seen a lot on those CCT boards honestly. Mostly all 3000k and then they started adding reds.

Oooooooh oooooooh one thing you'll be very interested in is this emerging advancement in UV leds that cutter offers. Have a look at this crazy shit!!


@welight I would love if you'd maybe give some more info or anything you might know now about these? They seem like such an absolutely amazing advancement and this if it is good enough for what it's supposed do, and the powers there needed to do it, the easiest way ever to get that lost part of the spectrum everyone's been without since..... Forever. Thanks, Mark.
I have 2 that should be here soon, plus a tiny amount on the other strips I got from them. I'd love to hear what anybody thinks. I have heard a lot of agromax lovers saying they won't be worth anything lol

Cutter always has some crazy shit! On of the first places we ever found top bins back in the day, thank you Mark! Im guessing they make LED tanning beds with UVA UVB nowadays? Def be careful with UVC germicidal spectrum though, hardcore DNA damage. UVC normally gets filtered out by the atmosphere.
I have some of their 280/310 strips coming. What do you mean DNA damage?

Holy hell those are expensive... I was thinking about adding UV next, but ill have to save up for a bit if I do those.

I have some of their 280/310 strips coming. What do you mean DNA damage?
DNA absorbs 254 nm UVC which makes UVC awesome for germicidal lamps, killing germs in water and air filtration systems. I looked at the product ZGE285-12UVC_B and it is 280nm and 310nm, so essentially it is UVB just like fluorescent tanning lamps, reptile lamps and the bright noon sun. You should still shield your eyes from UVB but it is not nearly as dangerous as 254nm UVC.


Also UVB if filtered out by lenses or covers, so it would have to be run bare or with special UV glass, giving an edge to diy designs

Its a tight grouping of 280nm chips imo. Erythemal weighting factor is greater than 1 at 280nm if you extrapolate. UVI is the quotient of the erythemaly weighted UV divided by 25mW/m2. A UV index of 10 is 250mW/m2 of erythemaly weighted UV. If your peak WV is 280nm your erythemal weighting factor is theoretically over 1, but this is already evident as you mention the shorter the WV the more damage to human tissue (aside from the absorption spectra of DNA), so this already correlates to a degree. There have been studies that show increased PPFD correlates with increased total UV tolerance, so if trying to get an idea of doseage based on typical UVI of the light it evolved under, it seems you're looking at half the intensity at least, due to indoor PPFD being possibly half the intensity of the sun, this of course assuming the relationship scales linearly.

Imo 295nm is the golden ticket as it seems to trigger HY5 and UVR8 more efficiently than any other single WV chip. Followed by 280/285, and finally 310nm. At least in vivo.

One of the growers here, @nachooo was maxing his tolerance at 60mW/m2 (4 chips equally spaced about 1m2) of 280nm at a duration of ~3.0hrs - 3.5hrs a day if I'm not mistaken.

Ive got a reptile UVa and UVb 10.0 t8 and a 395nm UV t10.. And have just ordered 2x 365nm UVA 36w led kingbo style lamps for side lighting in a 3x3...i may swap out the t10 UVA BP..in exchange for an HLG t5 7-30/70nm tube as I think that would be more useful, i am also using alot of other lights i n that space ill add pics when my internet speeds up..

As it stands at the moment in a 3 x 3 x 6 I have currently have :

3x 3500k 54w Optic1 cobs
1x 660nm Kingbo lamp E27 36w
1x mid green low watt led b22 night light..(thats on during light cycles to aid better penetration of spectral colors)
3x 35w 2700k CFL helix lamps
4x Secret Jardin tled 26w led side lighting
4x 2500k 35w CFL under lighting
2x 2000k 20w LED incandenscent old skool lamps

I am in the process of switching out some of the helix styled CFLs as well as adding a couple more lights for good measure..

Ive just ordered an additional 3500k 54w Optic1 cob, another Secret Jardin Bloom tled, a 660 to 830nm 54w lamp, 2x 36w 365nm UVA kingbo style led lamps.. and a 104w Optic1 Phantom XL gen 6 dimmable..

So no shortage of light..

Oh I vegged her (1x Critical RQS) for 4.3 months, she has over 300 tops, root bound in a 20L DWC ...working on a solution for that..
Canna Aqua complete nuits medium feed
Added humidifier and dehumidifier (soon to be wired to a humidistat..
and my fingers crossed she yields what I am dreaming/craving..

I'm running them bare
