What's Russia's endgame?

Is it to make us look like morons, Trump be damned? Or is it to ultimately gain control of our government?

I personally think the former is the reason behind this. I dont think Russia could successfully run a shadow government here. Too transparently corrupt. Oh wait we voted Trump in. Damn! smh.
They don't want to run our country, lol...well kinda technically I suppose. Russia's goal is to destabilize the U.S. so they can no longer play the largest role on the world stage. America has been a guiding hand in world culture and politics, shaping developing countries in our own image (sort of, not too much that we can't take advantage of their natural resources). Pushing a world rhetoric that leans toward principles of democracy, and human rights. By destabilizing the U.S., Russia can step into this role (although it's more likely that China seizes the role).

The real question is; is this a bad thing?

The answer...

No.

But also yes.

No, because does the U.S. need to be the country shaping a world identity? We barely have an identity ourselves. We have words that barely sum up our common ideals; words like freedom and liberty. But if you ask me, from Michigan, what those words mean in action in a society and you ask someone from Montana; you're going to get two very different answers. And probably a different answer from most of the 50 states. We have issues that they have no where else in the world (crippling healthcare costs, mass gun violence, lack of access to available services), who are we to go around and tell developing countries what works and what doesn't?

But yes, it is bad. Very. Very. Bad.

Flawed as the U.S. may be, our attempts at a thing that resembles a free society has quite a bit less human rights violations than fucking Russia. If you think Russia should be the country setting the world culture than I invite you to go stay in Russia for a few weeks. That should be enough time to give you the full experience. Evaluate your feelings then. America has corruption. Russia is corruption if it were ever a tangible breathing thing.

Capitalism has risen more people out of poverty than socialism ever will

Times were tough in the old days, work the land or slave wages for a meal, not much of a choice.
Mind you if you don't pay people enough, they can't afford to buy the shit you make, and you go broke
The capitalist figured that out, commercialism is only a new phenomenon, less than a few century's old, mistakes will have been made.
The socialist herd all the sheep for them these days, and the people vote for it, its truly fckin amazing
how stupid people are.
