What's the best strain to grow in FFOF?

I'm looking for a strain that is particularly happy to grow in FFOF from seed to harvest, without it looking for extra nutrients at some point.

A set it and forget it sort of strain...just veg, flip, and come back in say nine weeks kind of strain...

Thanks in advance!

You need to amend a homemade super soil. You won't be able to do that with any over the counter shit.

I'm not sure you'll find any soil that won't need a little supplement to support a plant through until finish, unless outside or Flower from seed.

My understanding was that ocean forest is hotter than supersoils, to the point of toxicity to less tolerant strains.

I'm looking to find a good smoking, FFOF-tolerant strain that i would repeatedly transplant from, say, 1 gallon to 3 gallon to 7 gallon smartpots, thus adding nutrients through veg, up to near the onset of flowering. I've spoken to folks locally that do something like this and use no other nutes, so i was assuming that it was somewhat common. I also figured that some folks might have identified a strain or two that was perfectly matched for something like this...if no one here knows, I'll report back from what folks at my next local NORML meeting say.

I have been growing since 2000. For like 2 years , when I first started, I grew with nothing but miracle gro and tap water. I had decent results. I was growing Serious seeds AK47, Dutch Passion skunk #1 (I believe???) and world of seeds. I really had no real problems.

After that I was I was introduced to FFOF and started growing in that, by that time , I had a bunch of elite's stuff, cali connection, and the white clone only when krome came out with it. It was straight FFOF and tap water in 3 gallon buckets. Never had one single problem when I watered with straight tap water. I grew out a 13 week Kali Mist, with straight water and FFOF. After that, I got me a ph pen and EC meter and started feeding nutes. THATS WHEN THINGS WENT AWRY. I started seeing burn and other tell tale signs of bad things.

With that being said, I have reverted back to using tap water and FFOF myself for a while now (3 years) and have had great results. What I do is germ seeds in rapid rooters, veg in a small pot of ffof for about 28 to 30 days depending on the rate of growth. After the 30 days are up, I'll up pot them into 3 gallon bags with new FFOF and flower them immediately. Set it and forget it.

Side Note: I do keep nutes on hand just in case, but unless the plant is telling you that she needs something, i wouldnt worry about them. And Im speaking on experience

Your understanding is wrong. Ffof isn't hot at all only noobs say that because they need something to blame. I start seeds in it, I transplant clones into it. It's kinda weak Imo. If you mixed it with frog and light warrior and more lime it's better but still eventually requires nutrients to get the most out of the plants. Those growers that told you to do that probably suck.

I use ffof and preamend the soil. Nothing but ffof and ewc for the veg then up pot with 2 tbsp of Rainbow bloom mix per gallon of ffof, for the flower phase. You can top dress too. I think just running the ffof alone would be ok but might be a little light on the nutes even with up potting.

Sativas tend to need less nutes but I have run all kinds of strains with no problems.
