What's the better political strategy?

In order for Democrats to win elections, what do you think is the better political strategy:

  • change the minds of moderates/conservatives

  • convince Independents and those who normally don't vote to vote

Results are only viewable after voting.

Oh, so you're fine with corporations owning hundreds of homes and getting into the slumlord business, while simultaneously driving home prices up and out of reach of private individuals and families, thereby wrecking their opportunity to use their home as their primary retirement savings vehicle?

You sound like a Republican.
You again sound like an idiot pulling shit out of his ass.

I know you don't care but since the 2009 economic recovery act was passed by Democrats against universal opposition by Republicans including another vote in the Senate to override a filibuster by Republicans, the economy has added 16 million new jobs and recorded more than 75 straight months of economic growth.
That's great as far as it does, but none of the reasons for the crash were addressed or resolved, so we're well on our way to another one.

And of course wealth and income inequality is still climbing smartly!

Great for the one percent, which neither you nor I are a member of, so why are you so ardently building the fortunes of others at your own expense?

Just like Bush. Or something.

If he didn't run as a Democrat he would never have been able to shame the 'why didn't you run as a Dem?' criticism. Now that he's done that and it's become obvious that's not a viable strategy, perhaps he'll be able to run as an independent more effectively.
LOL

So he never intended to win. Well if he's as popular as you say he should just run as a republican.

And the whole thing was a giant missed opportunity for single payer healthcare for all Americans but instead you want to give them credit for the greatest giveaway to the health insurance industry in American history.
I know you don't care but Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act in 2009 was passed by Democrats against nearly complete Republican opposition and signed into law by Obama, expanding coverage to 4 million extra children than in GW's administration.

I know you don't care but Obama's administration re-started the Civil Rights Enforcement division which had withered away under GW, enabling enforcement of fair housing laws, the voting rights act, employment discrimination and cracking down on police discrimination policies.

Wow, y'all need a whole crowd to shout me down.

Change is scary for you, isn't it?

But it's coming, like it or not. Either we take the initiative or history will shove it down our throats.

Care to guess which will be more painful?

Shout down? Maybe we just don't agree with your analysis. That's the way things work. Don't pout.

Maybe democracy is not for you.

The window is broken. I guess I should just torch the whole house.
The window is broken and the repair tech won't fix it.

So call another company.

What's so hard to understand about that?

If you feel the Democratic Party has taken care of you, by all means- vote for them!

I'll vote for the candidate I think will best serve my interests.

That's called 'democracy'. Perhaps you've heard of it?

Yeah, I have heard of it. Perhaps you can't deal with being disagreed with.

I know you don't care but Democrats passed and Obama signed into law the Omnibus Public Lands Management Act of 2009 which put under federal protection 550 million acres under various designations such as wilderness, monuments and historic trails as well as 1000 miles of rivers.

Civil disagreement and debate on the merits would be fine.

That's not what this crowd is about, however.
I know you don't care but part of the 2009 stimulus bill that Democrats passed and Obama signed into law and universally opposed by Republicans was 90 billion dollars for research into clean energy tech such as smart grids, renewable electricity generation and energy efficient electric cars..

Take a look at the dates on those actions. the 2009 Democratic Congress kicked ass. By 2010 Republicans gained leverage with the filibuster in the Senate and everything ground to a halt.
The Republicans went on to set the record for filibustering. They even filibustered their own bills.
Then they blamed Obama for gridlock.
