What’s this deficiency? Brown soorts

Critical Purple Autoflower from GCS

SOIL: fox farm ocean forest
LIGHT: 600W LED & 100W CFL
3 Gal. pot
Running continuous 20/4 light sched.

This plant is 17 days from sprout. It was looking good initially but over time the new growth is coming in a much lighter yellow color than that healthy full green that the lowest node has. There are also very smal brown splotches on random leaves right in the middle. I was thinking nute burn, however the tips of all leaves are untouched by the usual shriveling you would see. I’m clueless so far. Any tips help! Thanks!

I appreciate the passive aggressiveness. I just would’ve appreciated an actual shot at the problem a little more. Thanks

He did take a shot at the first problem. We can't see what the original problem is because of the shitty lighting. The shitty attitude doesn't help either.

I thought the whole point of a forum post was tolook at the pictures of the plant and take your best crack at it. Not to critique photography. Unless you guys just didn’t look at the pictures.. you can clearly see what I’m describing. But condescension is the easier route to take, I reckon.

Young plants in soil shouldn't be getting nutrients for 3 weeks, btw. USE DISTILLED WATER for a week or so.....then go back to Ph'd tap water.

I can't diagnose MY own plants under HPS without either putting on my Method 7s to balance the red spectrum or turning off my lights and looking at it in more natural light.

You're asking us to diagnose something we can't see. What you may see on YOUR monitor isn't necessarily what we see on ours. Again if you want useful input from the experienced please take a picture in natural light.

It's overwatering. Tell-tale signs: drooping, leaves twisting discoloration. Try letting your plants go a week without waterin. It's very easy to overwater small plants in big pots.

this plant has only been given ph’d tap water (~6.4) since its sprout. I was planning on starting nutes about 3-4 weeks in. Should I still switch from this to distilled for about a week and then go back to ph’ ig? I’ve been reading some threads where people are saying if a plant is in soil you should just run tap water with no ph adjusters... but then I read some that say ph is everything. Thanks so much for the input!

Oh crap, I never would’ve thought that. How much volume of water do you think I should be watering with each time? I have been strict about the watering frequency, I water about every 3 days- making sure the top is dry. However I have been giving it a good amount everytime, probably a little over 1 liter, I make sure to soak the whole pot with water. Is that too much?

Overwatered plants will droop, not develop brown spot discoloration too. Ocean Forest soil has been a "hot" soil, certain strains can't tolerate the amount of nutes in it as seedling babes.
I'd use distilled water for a week to water, it has zero minerals and will begin to make the soil more hospitable for the strains you have there. I mix Happy Frog + Ocean Forest, add perlite and worm castings.....Blend it well, works for ANY strain without nute burn.

Maybe the spots dont mean over watering but overwatering is known to mimic other deficiencies. Also, yes Ocean forest is hot so it would be better to get the cheaper happy frog but you need a good soil that won't suffocate your roots. And you need to forget they are there and give them time to heal and adapt. They aren't dead yet so they can make a comeback. In the soil you have water every three days is a no go. The problem isnt as much how much you water as how long the soil stays soaked. The only way to judge that is through observation. Let your plants go dry as the soil dries up you should see your plant perk up. That is a sign. That you need to water less. Those leaves are gonna end up dying. So it doesn't matter what they look like as much. You're looking for new-growth.

If you would like to come up with a temporary fix you can hit home depot or amazon for perlite. It should either be a powdery or granular structure. Mix a good bit of this with the soil you already have ( about 30% perlite 70% soil) and repot once they dry out.
